About this deal

The different colored plates are supposed to give the impression in the film that Han and Chewi are repairing the falcon with all sorts of spare parts that they got from a junkyard. For example with a plate of a red or dark gray painted YT freighter. Sometimes I need to to do more lights/shades steps untill I am happy with results. Here You have finnished Han Solo: It may have escaped your notice that there's a new Star Wars film coming Christmas 2015, which is set 30 years after the original, with new peril, new characters and new hardware. It also marks the return of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy – The Millennium Falcon, which is perhaps the most widely recognised and iconic space craft, even though it's pure fiction! After each painting session clean your brushes carefully and form the tip before putting it on shelf

What is of no use at all from the original kit are the LEDs. They’re way too weak. Disappointing for a 400 euro kit. Especially since there are very bright lights for a mere 8 cents apiece.

So I reinterpret my falcons and this is the first result. Although I still don’t know if I’m really satisfied. By the way, You need a good brush. I mean really good one. I use W&N series 7. I like them very much. I painted Han using just one brush – size 1. If you choose some cheap brushes, then you will only get frustrated. Good brush must have 4 features: a) excellent sharp tip, b) proper flexibility c) ability to maintain its good shape for a long time d) large belly to hold a lot of tinned paint. You've probably been watching videos on YouTube, these are the most accessible and there's quite a few on there with some good tips.

This was the first time that a part didn’t sit perfectly. A huge gap had to be bridged with Mr. surfacer. And everyone seems to assemble then spray (rather than spray parts before assembly). Is this right too? I used this mini DFPlayer module which is basically an MP3 player and combined SD card reader and does not even reach € 2 on Aliexpress. He should fly through a halved tube. This is based on some film scenes, where he flies through the interior of the not yet finished Death Star, for example.

After priming and pre-shading, the first base coat is on. I chose Vallejo White Gray. Pure white would have been too cold for me. Apply the decals first after removing the surface details. Otherwise I would have had problems with Microsol myself.

I have drilled holes for optic fibers – I will try to light up a front control panel with few of them. I would definitely recommend using an airbrush or spray cans for the paint job. You could do the smaller details with a brush but best to do the overall colour with an airbrush. Try as much as you can not to touch the painted objects (that is why I am pinning almost all model parts). You May have damage it. Even if you dont damage it you can still leave some grease from your fingers - this is bad and can change the color and properties of the surface.
