About this deal

Both of these JBLs provide a huge sound with heavy bass thanks to JBL distinctive Pro Sound. Because this option has been removed, you cannot convert from indoor to outdoor mode.

In terms of looks, the Boombox 2 is very similar to the original and, for me at least, that’s a good thing. Its cylindrical shape is a departure from the angular boomboxes of yesteryear, with the curvature giving it a more contemporary feel while also making it less awkward to carry. The only real aesthetic changes from the first Boombox are new designs on the exposed passive bass radiators and a redesigned battery indicator. At present, JBL’s only PartyBoost compatible devices are the Boombox 2, Flip 5 and Pulse 4, although it’s likely that most, if not all, of the company’s portable releases over the next couple of years will include PartyBoost. For example, you can connect two JBL Boombox 2 speakers together using JBL Connect+, creating a powerful stereo sound system that is perfect for parties, outdoor gatherings, or any other occasion where you want to bring the music with you. Another example of how JBL Connect+ can be used is to connect a JBL Boombox 2 to a JBL Flip 5 portable speaker. This allows you to create a custom sound system that combines the powerful, punchy sound of the Boombox 2 with the smaller, more portable design of the Flip 5. This makes it easy to enjoy great sound wherever you go and allows you to tailor your sound system to your specific needs and preferences. Sound PerformanceLike its predecessor, the Boombox 2 is a durable, portable speaker. It’s no-frills in terms of what it offers: there’s no Wi-Fi streaming or voice assistant, just Bluetooth connectivity and big sound, especially in the bass department. Finally, this speaker has been designed to cope in adverse weather conditions. In fact, its IPX7 rating means it'll survive for up to 30 minutes while submerged in a metre of water. One of the standout features of the JBL Boombox 2 is its long battery life. With up to 24 hours of continuous playtime, the Boombox 2 is perfect for outdoor events, parties, or any other occasion where you want to bring the music with you. Its dual USB ports also allow you to charge your devices on the go, ensuring that you never run out of power when you need it most. Basically, if you had the Boombox 2, while a friend had the original Boombox, you would have no way of pairing them together because PartyBoost uses different protocols. While you could do the same type of speaker pairing like you could with Connect+, this speaker can only do it with those also supporting PartyBoost.

The only thing was, we didn’t really find this speaker to sound all that different from its predecessor. We played music on it relentlessly for weeks indoors and out, and while it wasn’t with a large group due to Covid-related restrictions, we recognized the familiarity throughout.

The Boombox is back – but is it any better than the original?

To keep the party going while charging your phone, both speakers include built-in Power Banks. Connectivity features Bring your speakers anywhere. Pool party? Perfect. Sudden cloudburst? Covered. Bash on the beach? JBL Boombox 2 is IPX7 waterproof up to three feet deep for fearless outdoor entertainment.

With the Partyboost function on both JBLs, you can connect several JBL Partyboost compatible speakers together for a more powerful sound. Boombox 3 may be paired with another JBL speaker to produce a stereo effect, or numerous PartyBoost-compatible speakers can be linked together for a more expansive sound system. Both speakers are equipped with 3.5mm AUX and micro USB inputs. IP Rating PartyBoost allows you to link multiple JBL PartyBoost-compatible speakers to pump up the party. Power up with the built-in power bank We weren't surprised to discover that this thing is bassy – it's something JBL seems to revel in – but the lead guitar and vocals were never overwhelmed and generally there was a nice balance to the mix. If we're being totally honest, the JBL Boombox 2 doesn't sound much different to the original speaker, which we should probably have expected since JBL hasn't really changed much inside. La forme de l'enceinte peut déranger et prendre de la place selon l'utilisation bien-sûr ( meilleur en extérieur que en intérieur au vu de sa forme ) Dance parties thrive on bass, so let your friends feel it. JBL Boombox 2 pumps out powerful, deep bass just like your favorite JBL-powered club. Keep the party going with up to 24 hours of playtime

Loud, bassy and rugged, the JBL Boombox 2 is a force to be reckoned with

JBL estimates battery life to be roughly 24 hours, but your results will vary with your volume levels. Performance JBL Boombox 3 and Boombox 2 have a design and construction quality that is comparable to each other. These are medium-sized, horizontally-positioned portable speakers. With a plastic top handle and a grip pad on top, you can hold it with one hand and carry it with ease. In terms of build quality, these speakers are up there. The speaker is encased in a cloth that is attached to a plastic base. Aside from a play/pause button and a volume button, the top of the loudspeaker has only mediocre controls, including a Partyboost button and a Bluetooth connectivity button. The speaker’s battery life and Bluetooth status may be seen via the LEDs at the bottom. There are no RGB lights included. J’ai acheté la Boombox 2 vendu par JBL, étant donné que la marque est reconnue dans le monde entier pour ses produits ayant des basses particulièrement puissantes !
