About this deal

Hero is a modern, simplistic, woody-fresh scent with a classy touch to it. It’s understated and smells super-clean, which makes it a pleasure for you to wear pretty much anywhere, anytime, anyplace, any season. It just — works! Also there is a Burberry Brit Rhythm. Which is similar, but not the same scent. So please keep that in mind. Confusing right? And as soon as the citrus dissipates, freshly-cut cedarwood makes itself known — joined with some juniper and a sprinkling of pepper. This is a carefree, casual, everyday fragrance — that is perfect for the weekends! (Hence the name.) 🙂 However, after about 30 minutes, you can detect some of the scent DNA of the original, but this fragrance then takes a different direction.

The juniper adds a little bit of a fresh green edge to the soft peppery woods, and it’s… Light & Airy I spent some time listening to the music that Burberry reportedly gave to perfumers Dominique Ropion, Olivier Polge and Beatrice Piquet to get them in the right mindset for The Beat (Kasabian, Dirty Pretty Things, Razorlight, the Arctic Monkeys and The Fratellis). It is par for the course, I suppose, that the music is far edgier than the juice they came up with? Presumably they're hoping to reach a wider audience than you'd get with a fragrance that evoked Dirty Pretty Things' Gin and Milk, and I shouldn't think anybody was going to go looking for edgy from Burberry anyway.

The inspiration for Burberry's The Beat for Men, according to Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey, was music, specifically the music of the bands Razorlight, the Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. “ I think there is so much crossing over between creative mediums,” said Bailey. “ Art, design, fashion, music — they all feed off each other and inspire each other. So I sat with the perfumers and gave them a ton of music. I think it’s a bit lazy to say, ‘The guy is 18 to 25, lives in that type of house…’ I don’t care how old or how young the guy is. It’s the attitude, and what taste the direction goes in. So the perfumers listened to the music as they were creating the fragrance, and they got it instantly.”* The Beat for Men is not strictly masculine, I would definitely recommend this fragrance to both men and women. I get a lot of sweet, spicy woods, and I like it, a lot.

This option combines the woody notes of barks, mosses and warm resins with the greener impression of aromatic spices for a truly hypnotic effect. This fragrance's top is dominated by a single note of citrus fruits. Next middle notes of violet leaves and pepper move in. As these waft away, they uncover the base of vetiver. (Vetiver, sometimes called khus, is a grass similar to lemongrass and native to India.) Burberry Fragrances: Pricing

The bergamot, cardamom, and bellflower make a quintessentially British scent, reminiscent of both a classic cup of Earl Gray in the countryside and a spicy day out in London. The Beat is remarkably versatile, part of Burberry’s revamp of their brand to reach a younger, hipper demographic while still appealing to their more classic and refined crowd. Perfect for casual use, family events, dinner with friends. If you go with one spray it could also make a nice office scent. Elegant, Warm & Comforting So many reviewers are saying that this fragrance is too harsh and too peppery, I find this fragrance more spicy than peppery. Perhaps it is just the way my nose perceives this fragrance. I also get a lot of violet and sweet, juicy fruits. It’s soft ,clean, and smells extremely pleasing. And you’ll be pleased to know this is… Hyper Versatile
