About this deal

effect means you don’t need to adjust the focus every time you want to view objects through the binoculars. For some reason Carson don't advertise the minimum focussing distance, but I measured it at 1.9m (6.2ft) away. This for a full sized binocular this is very good and whilst they may not beat specifically designed close focusing binoculars, I would still recommend them to anyone who also wants to occasionally observe objects at close range - butterflies for example.

The VP Series comes with roof prisms and offers 5 variants under the series ranging from the largest 12×50 variant to the most compact, the 10×25 variant. The complete series features the BAK-4 prism and completely multi-coated optics. These binoculars come with phase correction coating on the prism glass which is waterproof. The 5 Variants available in this series: These inexpensive binoculars have 42mm objective lenses and 8x magnification. The stunning optics gives you a wonderful visual experience with low chromatic aberration, incredible resolution, color accuracy and sharpness across the entire image. Binoculars for astronomy: In this case, you need a pair of binoculars with high magnification. Also, opt for the full-size models with a large aperture to collect a greater amount of light. The most optimal models for stargazing are 10x42 or 10x50 binoculars. If you need higher magnification, make sure you have a tripod to stabilize a device. Choose Binoculars with a 7x to 10x Magnification for General Use Another good quality of this pair is its effective handling. You need not worry about the binoculars in your hand; you can just concentrate on the beautiful view in front of your eyes. It moves easily within your hands and you would not be bothered about its handling. Carson Optical currently offer a wide range of binoculars suitable for most uses including travel, bird watching, wildlife observation, hiking and camping as well as hunting, sporting events. The binoculars are grouped into a "Series" covering a wide range of price points and vary in the quality of their optics, coatings and build quality. Currently their top of the range binoculars are the Carson 3D Series Binoculars.

The size of the product, the weight, and the design are just about perfect. You do not need to spend hundreds of dollars more to buy an expensive pair of binoculars as Carson VP provides you with all you require in this reasonable price range. I have been using this pair now for over one month and believe me, no other brand has satisfied me this much, although in the past I have used several more expensive and well-known brands. The body on these Carson 10x42 3D binoculars are O-ring sealed to make them fully waterproof which obviously protects them from moisture, but also prevents dust and other tiny particles from getting inside them, which can lead to your view being spoilt. They air inside the body has also been replaced with dry nitrogen gas that prevents the internal optics from fogging up which can happen when you get rapid temperature changes. This moisture free environment also helps to protect the inner workings from any corrosion. What the table above does highlight is the fact that they are extremely light weight and compact for a binocular with 42mm objective lenses. They also have a pretty good field of view for a 10x porro prism binocular, plenty of eye relief and a reasonable minimum focussing distance. Also considering their price, the the fact that they come with ED glass and have phase correction coatings on the prisms is impressive. Included Extras & Attention to Detail: This option consists of 42mm objectives made of environmentally-friendly materials. They are free of arsenic and lead. The binoculars also have 10x multi-coated lenses.

As mentioned earlier, Carson have used some excellent quality optical components and coatings on these 3D Series TD-042ED Binoculars. The biggest improvement of these TD-042ED's over the "standard" models in the 3D Series is the use of ED glass (extra low dispersion) - whilst ED glass is becoming more and more common, it is still only really used on high end cameras, telescopes, microscopes and binoculars. What the Extra low dispersion glass does is to give the designer of a multi-element objective lens a wider range of options with which to control and minimise aberrations, in particular, chromatic aberration. Generally speaking, the better the aberrations are controlled the cleaner and brighter the image will appear. I am sorry that I can't help you in regards to comparing them to either the Zen Ray ZRS 10x42 or the Sightron Blue Sky SII 10x32 as I have not yet had the chance to test or review either of those, but what I can say is that I thought that the Carson was easily as good as any ED glass bin that I have tested in their price range. This is true for both their build quality and the quality of the view through them. All these binoculars produce high quality image remember that fully multi-coated lenses produce a little better image in terms of being sharper and brighter.

VP-042

Carson 3D series binoculars combine all important features most people want to get when choosing an optical device. Compared with my benchmark binoculars, I could notice as small improvement in image brightness and so rate them as very good and well above average in this department. Carson company was first started as a binocular company and later expanded to manufacturing microscopes and magnifiers. Carson offers limited lifetime warranty for this series. Your binocular will be replaced or repaired in case any defect has been found. Most important aspect of any binocular and why we buy them is the image quality they produce when looking through them.
