About this deal

In other parts of the world a single pour or shot is a designated measurement, however in the USA bars are free to define their own single pour and double pour.

The jiggar boss was supposed to deliver "half a gill of Whiskey to every man, sixteen times a day". Half a gill is 2.5oz (of Whiskey). So every man drank 40oz of Whiskey a day. [ 2] An old student favourite, and with good reason! Cheeky Vimtos are ridiculously easy to make, and they're a pretty colour too. Need we say more? Cheeky Vimto ingredients Honey – Due to being easier to measure and use, I'm gradually moving our recipes away from using raw honey to honey syrup. However, when measuring spoons of honey, beware of honey remaining on the spoon from the previous measure affecting the accuracy of the next spoonful. Easy JiggerSo, if you’ve ever wondered how many ml are in a single pour, or the cl in a shot of vodka, then we will answer all your questions… Part: This is not a particular measurement. Rather, it’s based on the volume of your serving size/glass. All the recipe is recording is the ratio of the ingredients to each other. Parts are great for drinks like sangria, where you could be making a glass or a pitcher. You’ll find it in two forms behind the bar, milliliters (ml) and centiliters (cl); with ml being the most common unit of measurement. However they are interchangeable with 1cl equalling 10ml. Woo Woo is a Wetherspoons favourite, but you can easily make this at home too – and it's cheaper. Here's how. Woo Woo ingredients

A jigger can have different sizes and measurement units. Typically the large bowl holds 1.5 to 2 ounces of liquid, and the smaller cup is usually 0.75 to 1 ounce. When digging further, I also found an Oxford English Dictionary definition. According to them, in the US Northeast in the 19th century, Irish laborers were supplied with Whiskey by a boy called the jiggar boss. To use a jigger, simply fill the appropriate side with the liquid called for in the recipe. For example, if the recipe calls for 1.5 ounces of vodka, fill the larger side of the jigger with vodka and pour it into the shaker. Ounce MeasurementThis is further complicated by those used to working with 25ml as the standard measure also thinking in fractions of that measure. Hence, 12.5ml is a common measure in European recipes, but this converts to an unfathomable two-fifths of an ounce from an American perspective. Most of us will be familiar with the metric system, as it’s the official one used in almost all countries around the world. Metric measurements are considered the ' bartender basics' in bartending. Such a skill takes time and practice, but once you’ve learnt it it will become second nature. There’re a couple of different counting methods which people use, however the method is the same, and time is the biggest element of it. Here at the European Bartender School we teach free pouring on our bartending course. A single or one-sided jigger has a single bowl to fill in and measure spirits. It can look like a simple shot glass or a more advanced measuring cup with different levels. It's great for home bar use but not very common with professionals. If you want to cheat, you can avoid buying the first three ingredients and just use Malibu instead!
