About this deal

thnx to Hala for waiting an entire 8 hours for me to finish my exams and get home so we could read together hehe, I wouldn't have had as much fun as I did without you! I can't wait to continue our tradition and finish the series in may with aspenkingsley 🤍 What were my thoughts when it came to Levi King? In the book, he is an ultimate jerk to Astrid, which is expected since he’s a bully. I liked his character, even if he was the bully of the story. He had his own issues that he was dealing with and acted out in ways due to what he had been put through. He lived with his Uncle, who tried to control his life, and his cousin. He and Astrid had similarities to what they were dealing with regarding family issues. Neither one was respected or even shown love, and both lost either one or both parents. Expecting her to act differently — follow in Daniel's footsteps and whoring around (?) so that her behavior doesn't conform to harmful and outdated gender "stereotypes/norms" — isn't fair. 😌 I'm not sure why heroines have to try on a role of a "manwhore" or resort to toxic patriarchal behavior to be respected and considered likeable. Would I recommend this book? Yes. If you enjoy New Adult Romances with the bully and hate-to-love/enemies-to-lovers tropes, this book/series may be for you.

Well, the moment of scorching chemistry between me and Rina Kent's work just never happened ( I gave 3 stars to 12 books of hers💫💀) Why?” Her question is a haunted whisper as she closes her hand into a fist and hits me with it across the chest. My taste in fictional men is truly legendary too, and while Daniel isn't the type I'd normally fall for, I enjoyed his primitive thought process and clueless personality. 🥺 In my opinion, everything that has to do with one's personal choice, independent of other people's expectations and beliefs, and doesn't infringe on anyone's else rights, can't be considered a double standard. Both Daniel and Nicole didn't have any obligation to stay faithful to each other, they were never officially together in the first place. The audacity to think that readers are entitled to dictate what characters authors can or can't write about! 😂 Lend me some of this delusion. 🙏🏻 Rina really knows how to write high school romances, so all the chemistry, tension, and angst I felt were during past chapters and I wish there were more because adult Daniel just came across as a cry baby to me.

Daniel shutting the door in her face. Astrid assuming that she was having consensual sex with Christopher and not coming to her rescue. The subsequent family drama that ensued shortly afterwards. Regardless, Nicole didn't rape Daniel, but she did have the intention to drug him and herself so she could finally make him see her but I FORGIVE HER! #FREENICOLE Genre/SubGenre(s)/Trope(s)/Element(s): Romance. YA/NA Romance. Bully Romance. Hate to Love. Enemies to Love. Sports Romance. Soccer/Football Romance. Athlete/Football/Soccer Player MMC. Nicole is the only woman I want to kiss until we’re both out of breath and sharing each other’s air.” You can either love one of the options and hate the other and vice versa, but as far as this particular book is concerned, it was about Nicole doing what she thought was best for her. She's known to write unapologetic anti-heroes and villains because she often fell in love with men no one roots for. Her books are sprinkled with a touch of darkness, a pinch of angst, and an unhealthy dose of intensity.

Daniel first caught Nicole's eye at age 8 and ever since then her obsession with him began to fester and grow, but he thinks she's a mean bully, especially to his best friend Astrid, Nicole's step-sister. When they're 18, Nicole pours Ecstacy in shots for herself and Daniel at a party but, he snatches the drinks out of her hands and drinks it and later in a horny Ecstacy-filled haze, takes Nicole's virginity. I loved the mystery and suspense element of the plot as well, it left me guessing right to the very end! Finally Rina made a conscious effort to not only describe the tension-filled and gloomy events but also cause a sensation of living through them with her characters in a reader. Rina managed to convey so heartbreakingly and potently the pain, the despair and the shattering loneliness Nicole had to experience on her own after Christopher (OM) had raped her.

Gotta admit that Nicole's story was very touching. There's just something about a person feeling like they're invisible that tears at my heartstrings. In all honesty, all of us could relate to having the same sensation of abandonment at some point in our lives. He has weird hair that’s neither dark nor light, as if it couldn’t make up its mind on which color to be, so it settled on a mixture of both. Like the color of the earth under the sun and the tone of premium wood.

Once Daniel finds out he literally acts as if she cheated on him, even though they were not dating and LEAVES THE COUNTRY👋 Fast forward 11 years, and Daniel hires Nicole as his personal assistant; who is now a guardian to her baby brother and is on the run from his dad (who happens to be her rapist). Daniel sees this as the perfect opportunity to get revenge on Nicole for his hurt ego/feelings 🥰 The way his green eyes hold the calm of Buddha, the wisdom of Confucius, and the kindness of Mother Theresa.Whoring around" or staying celibate, as long as it's a woman's choice made in accordance with her own preferences and life circumstances, is perfectly normal. This is how it went for 99.9% of the story. Nicole existing and Daniel taking it all out of context. He was too stupid to comprehend anything that happened around him. Worst part is I can't even hate him. If you shake Daniel's head it would sound like a spray can, and how can you hate a person with nothing but air in his skull without feeing guilty? His brainless shell of a body just existed in his own little world, bless his heart. Boohoo Nicole called him a loser, but she NEVER acted above Daniel, and are you the queen? The world doesn't revolve around you! You're the last person Nicole thought of during the BJ scene. Is this who you lot stan yeah? could never be me! If y'all say omg if you read Cruel King you'd see how bitchy Nicole was, I DON'T CARE :) WHATEVER SHE DID ASSRAT DESERVED IT! My brother watches us like we’re the dullest animals in a zoo. Now I recognize the emptiness in his gaze. It’s complete and utter apathy as if being alive is the most boring thing he’s ever had to do.” Daniel's erroneous assumptions (both in the past and in the present) turned his each and every interaction with Nicole into such an intense and emotional battle of wills between the almighty queen and the dirt on her shoes that my eyes were literally obsessed with watching them both come up with toxic insults for each other.
