Description

Before using the pool cleaner for the first time, the tested pool had a build-up of sediment on the bottom. After 90 minutes and a few filter empties later, we found that nearly everything had been cleaned out of the pool. The following week, the pool water was clear and had less sediment than it did the first week. Just wanted to update on how the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner has been working so far. This morning was the first time I hade to vacuum the pool manually. There were 2 corners, 1 edge of the ramp to the dee[ end and the stairs that the robot missed.....that's it. All told I spent 10 minutes cleaning up where the robot missed and my pool is spotless! This is awesome and not a complaint! Users also commented that the price tag is very reasonable, considering that the device comes with its own booster pump. Additionally, some users praised the Dolphin’s efficiency in cleaning odd-shaped swimming pools.

Overall, we found that the cleaner is easy to set up and use. We did find that it took a few attempts to adjust the two-angle settings, and we would have appreciated more clear instructions to help. The CC in the name stands for CleverClean; the technology that’s responsible for the high functionality of the Dolphin. It enables the unit to fully clean a pool in around two hours. Plus, the technology saves energy by consuming minimal electric supply in each clean. Many robotic pool cleaners can cover pools up to 50 feet, with some going as high as 60 or 75 feet. The amount of coverage a robot can manage has to do primarily with “the capacity of the debris container,” explains Phil Whitman of Proactive Pool Solutions. The bigger the container, the more debris a cleaner will be able to collect and the greater area it’ll be able to cover. You can switch them whenever you like. However, it’s recommended that you only use the ultra-fine filters when you need deep cleaning. Pool Cleaner Maintenance When we tested the Zodiac MX6 In-Ground Suction Side Pool Cleaner, we were impressed with how it was able to clean algae and sediment. We also liked that it was lightweight and had an integrated handle, so it was easy to get into the pool. However, we would have preferred the unit to have a memory feature as it left some areas clean and other areas dirty.

Watts also notes that some users mention the pool cleaner not cleaning the whole pool on first use or sitting still during at moments during the initial clean. “This is your dolphin mapping your swimming pool into its memory,” Watts says. “Wait until about the third time you use it, and it should be functioning perfectly.” No, it can’t. The power supply unit isn’t waterproof. Therefore, it’ll get damaged if you put it into the pool with the device. That’s also why you shouldn’t leave it out in rainy weather. Does The Dolphin Nautilus Come With A Cover? It might work, but that’s definitely not what it’s designed for. Therefore, we can’t assure you it’ll get you the results you want if you try to use it in an above-ground swimming pool. The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus is made specifically to work for inground pools. Not Wi-Fi Ready. Not necessarily a deal-breaker though if you’re going to get a robotic pool cleaner, it’s understandable if you want one that pools all the stops. Being Wi-Fi ready means your pool cleaner can be controlled remotely, usually through your smartphone. This is an extra layer of convenience that the Dolphin Explorer E30 does not have. Suction-side pool cleaners are powered by your pool's pump, and the suction from the hose drives the cleaner around the pool floor surface at random. They can drive on wheels, bristles, or a rubber disc. Some pools have dedicated ports for suction-side cleaners, or they can connect to the skimmer.

Pressure-side pool cleaners have their own reusable collection bags. It can be handy to have an extra one on hand so you can clean out a full one without missing a cleaning cycle. "Pressure-side pool cleaners have more moving parts than suction-side pool cleaners, which can mean more maintenance and repairs," Thompson says. No matter your pool shape, style, and surface material, the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner is sure to get the job done. The best pool cleaner for in-ground pools is compatible with various pool shapes and has a brushing system that cleans walls and floors. After all, “these machines use electric motors to move around the bottom and sides of the pool, while scrubbing and vacuuming up dirt, debris, and other contaminants,” which improves both “the overall cleanliness and clarity of the pool water.”Setting up this pool cleaner took about 45 minutes, which was longer than expected. The included instructions were a bit vague, so we did our own online research to assemble it. Once it was together, we were impressed with how well it was able to clean our pool. In its debut run, totaling two hours, this handy little robot did what I was unable to do in two weeks, and about 1000% better. After only running for one cycle, I retrieved the unit and took out the filters to examine what was captured. I was frankly amazed with what was inside; probably a solid few pounds of sand, dirt and other types of debris that had settled at the bottom of the pool, most of which I have not even seen. I was beyond pleased. Deputy Editor Reina Galhea ran the Nautilus CC Plus every day (1 cleaning cycle for 2 hours) for two months to put the product to the ultimate test. The robot cleaner arrived fully assembled, and the setup could not be any easier. All you have to do is insert the included filters, attach the hose, plug it in and drop it into the pool. It’s really that simple. If you want an alternative device that works for above-ground ones, you may want to consider the old Nautilus CC, which was made to work on both inground and above ground pools. What Surface Types Does The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Clean? When it comes to filtration, there is only 1 set of standard filters included - this is less than ideal compared to modern robotic cleaners like the Dolphin ProLine's Dolphin Quantum, Premier, or Sigma which includes NanoFilters.
