About this deal

Kelsie Rae’s novel “Don’t Let Me Fall,” tells the story of a college student named Ashlyn who has been described as a good and loyal girl. I feel like we also didn’t get a clear foundation of ash’s and Logan’s relationship. We knew Logan was cheating because of the dual POV and it was easy to guess from his excuses of “work meetings”, but it went from “we’ve been in a very happy relationship since first year” to “this relationship isn’t working” (and this was only because she had tension with Colt) to “Logan has always been a terrible boyfriend”. Just found it a bit confusing. Again, Logan is in fact an arse. No discussion obviously. Story line 0/5- wish the author didn’t drag the story. She could have focused on the trust issues Ash had after her breakup and try to make a character arch for her. The story felt like the author was running to the finish line and trying to tell us how in love the couple is. Nothing was built up. Nothing.

I was a bit let down by this book, not gonna lie. I read “Don’t Let Me Fall” and had my issues with it and honestly, this is the same book, but with worse character development and the same storyline. The h gets mad and jealous (yet apparently knows she shouldn’t) for a man she knows NOTHING about. When their tutoring session started, they had their first real conversation (without Colt’s continuously smirking) and I thought “yes! We’ll see a bit of their friendship build?”. Nope. Apparently these go from strangers, to strangers in a complicated situation with apparently a lot of chemistry although they haven’t spoken to each other, to screwing around to we’ve always been in love. The END.Don’t Let Me Go tells the story of Theo, the boy next door, and Blakely, his best friend’s little sister, who collide with an inevitable attraction years in the making. Blakely was such a strong character, standing up for herself, going after what she wanted and not taking bullshit from anyone, including Theo. ahhh this man was a dreamboat. And ya he let Logan date Ashlyn knowing hes cheating but then he also gave him an ultimatum so would come clean cause he couldnt see her in pain anymore. The first problem, Blake being Colts sister. They make a big deal about it, making the “best hokey team” lose a game, just so Colt can say “I know you’ve always loved her. Make it right and we’re cool”. Like, really, that simple? I get that its hard to believe that the “love of your life” I might be cheating on you, but it sounded like her entire relationship (esp the last 6 months) she was settling for such mediocre presence.

Theo and Blakely shared a history from childhood and were friends until the first time Theo saw her in a dress on her 15th birthday. But they were always secretly attracted to each other, or perhaps not so secretly in everyone else's eyes. I loved their connection with the push and pull, challenging each other, as they learned to trust and break down walls. Their love was addictive, consuming and filled with fire and intensity. I loved watching them let each other in, not being afraid to be vulnerable. Theo is Blakely's older brother's best friend. They've had a thing for the other since she was 15 years old, but they've never acted on it. In fact, Theo pushed Blakely away for years. Theo and Blakely shared a childhood history and were friends until Theo first saw her in a dress on her 15th birthday. But they’ve always been secretly, or maybe not so secretly, attracted to each other. in the eyes of others. I loved their connection to the tug of war, challenging each other as they learned to trust and break down walls. Their love was addictive, consuming, and full of fire and intensity. I loved seeing them let themselves in without fear of being vulnerable. Ever since she was a child, she had loved reading but this became something of an obsession once she had her first child.By the time they got together I didn’t even realise “a couple of months” supposedly passed from the first time they met. Yes, it was THAT uneventful. i know that this is a fictional book and not necessarily representative of the author's own views, and i know that men talk about women like this in real life, but it's still irritating. i doubt that ANYONE reading a romance book like this is doing so for their daily dose of realistic misogyny. Theo has been friends with her brother for years even though they cannot see eye to eye and are often at each other’s throats. However, the truth is that Blake has had a crush on Theo for years but the man sees her only as the sister of his best friend. She also took the weekends off and left her husband to watch the kids in the morning so that she could make some time to write. She has been with Logan her boyfriend ever since they landed in college, even though the man is anything but loyal. But then things change with the entry of Colton Thorne who happens to be Logan’s friend from high school.

h had sex with boyfriend and H could hear it (they weren’t together at the time) but h was thinking of him The “Don’t Let Me” series of novels by Kelsie Rae is an interesting series of romance fiction with some very likable and related characters in some very good plots.

Success!

You lost her because you refused to treat her the way she deserves. That’s on you. Not me. And now that she’s mine, there is nothing that will take her away from me. Nothing. Do you understand me? And if you don’t keep your bruised ego out of our relationship, I’ll ruin your pretty little face beyond repair. We clear?”

When she not making plots and characters for her next novel, she can often be found reading, or sometimes playing with her three kids she likes to refer to as the three little monsters. There's minimal OM/OW drama in this book- Blakley is dating someone from the team and Theo is a (reformed) manwhore. You know what there's a lot of? TENSION. This book is sooo full of unresolved tension, it was amazing. Theo and Blakely had to work hard for it, but they finally got their happily ever after. YOU NEVER SAY THE OTHER PERSON'S INSECURITIES AND FAILURES EVEN IF YOURE TOO ANGRY AT THEM, it just shows how you've been raised up, tho ive no doubt seeing her parents aren't that stable themselves either, but no it's his decision anyway why are you getting in between.I really wish I liked this more. I’ve read a few best friend’s girl romances now and I know that the angst and tension can be absolutely amazing, but this really fell flat once they got together. Ash’s naivety was so frustrating. He ex was a monster. Colt was really the best part of this book, except for the fact that he kept saying “I’m a gentleman” every chapter. SHOW me, don’t keep telling me. Kelsie Rae published “Don’t Let Me Fall,” the debut novel of the series in 2022 and given the popularity of that first work, she decided to make it into a series. The series of novels now has at least four works with more still in the pipeline. But she is now grown and has been admitted to the same college that Theo attends, where she has convinced herself that she is ready to move on with her life. Kelsie began writing a long time ago but ever since the pandemic, she started getting up early in the mornings and staying up later in the evenings to write. i hated the fmc, why is ashlyn a fmc, she doesn't deserve to be one and she certainly doesn't deserve colt.
