It is not that hard to find a cheap and good guitar starter kit – and Donner DST-152 is a great example of that. I recently had the pleasure to test it out and it seriously made a very good impression on me. Entry-level or budget electric guitars are usually hit-or-miss in terms of quality. Some manufacturers consistently produce bad-quality guitars, while others produce cheap guitars that easily stand up against entry-level guitars from big-name brands.

I have the Ice Blue color model, which looks pretty special as it is a blend of light blue and metallic colors. The color changes slightly with the light and appears gray or light blue depending on where you are. Overall, it’s really nice to have it and it should get you going if you’re a beginner. But if you’re a bit more experienced player, you will probably want to look for something better. Accessories I needed to change the strings because the factory set (9-42) was really cheap and the guitar didn’t stay in tune. Thanks to the correct relief from factory, I was able to get great low-string action. What if I did things the right way? The transparent way. I first run a vote on Youtube, I asked if it was okay to receive products for free and then provide an honest review. Here are the results:That being said, Donner DST-152 is ideal for home practice. I’d actually say that it may be a good option for live performances as well mainly because of its low price. Another great aspect of DST-152 is that it comes with an excellent accessory bundle. The bundle includes a gig bag, a Donner mini guitar amp, a USB charge cable for the amp, an AUX cable, a guitar cable, an extra string set, a capo, a guitar strap, a tuner, and two Hex keys’ (Allen wrench), one for adjusting the saddle and one for adjusting the truss rod. The Sound, The Feel Of The Donner DST-152 Keep in mind that every guitar is different, so my experience with this guitar may not be the same as other DST-200 guitars for sale. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

I got approached by Donner’s staff member Brandon, and he offered to send me products to test and review for free. I was flattered, but at first, I declined. I didn’t want to become like the Youtubers who produce commercials for guitars and rarely disclaim that they got products for free or even got paid to produce content. But I started to have second thoughts… Donner DST-200 is a pretty standard Strat-style electric guitar from the new Designer Series of Donner. The Designer Series follows the heritage of the Seeker Series while taking the positives from the old models and replacing the negatives with new solutions. This means if you attach the included tremolo arm (shown below), you can push it down and it will lower the pitch of the notes you play. Before anything, it comes with all you need to start playing, as it features a great accessory bundle. First-time players get a plug-and-play style set, avoiding any extra expense and struggle to complete the set. The knob was tough to pull up and I had to slide my fingernails under the bottom to grip it. I expect it will loosen up over time, but it does seem quite tight compared to other push/pull knobs I have on my guitars. If you’re a bit more advanced player, you will probably consider replacing these tuners with a better set, but if you’re just starting out, it won’t make any difference to you. It is very impressive how much quality and versatility this guitar offers. The gig bag is not heavily padded but it seems strong and comfortable to carry around with nicely padded handles and shoulder straps. In short, Donner DST-200 is one of the best beginner guitars I have ever tested. Big applause to Donner from here as they once again managed to squeeze great quality into an affordable price tag. The guitar feels and plays great, while the sonic versatility makes things much more enjoyable.
