Description

Flymo are famous when it comes to lawnmowers and they have a huge range of options to suit many different lawns. Flymo is a UK company and their lawnmowers are produced in their production plant in Durham. They have been producing quality lawnmowers since the 1970s. Who makes Flymo? With the Flymo EasiMow 340R, you get a 35 litre grass box. That’s just about spot on for a mower of this size so no complaints there. This is a plastic grass box though so do keep in mind that it might be harder to store than a fabric one. It’s not too heavy for a rotary mower and the design for storage is something quite special. First, you fold up the handles, and then the mower can be stood verticle to minimize the footprint. Finally, hang the grass bag up and you have a compact, easy to use storage solution that won’t take up much space in your shed or garage. Take Home

There’s quite a lot to get excited about when you think about the handle on the Flymo EasiMow 340R. First and foremost, it features dual lever controls so it can be operated with both the left and right hands independently. Starter Lever– At the top of this handle you have the starter mechanism for the mower. There are a couple of triggers with a push button located in between them. It’s a real simple to use design. Not the comfiest but nevertheless it works well. Personally, I didn’t think this setting was high enough for cutting a lawn with low-to-medium growth, since it almost scalped it. When using this lawnmower, I’d suggest waiting until your grass has medium growth instead to help protect your lawn over time. Larger items over 30kg can only be delivered Monday to Friday. Please allow up to two working days for these deliveries. It can be very frustrating seeing the performance of your lawn mower drop midway through cutting the grass, however, it doesn’t always mean there are serious problems: To set up this mower you have to install a guidewire around the edge of your lawn so the mower knows where to go. This involves pegging it on display which is easier to install but is visible or you can bury it underground. This is more intensive to install and you won’t notice breaks as easily but it will make the garden look tidier. Motor – In terms of the motor you’ve got on this machine, it’s certainly not the most powerful out there and I wouldn’t want to overload it and expect too much of it. This means DON’T expect it to plough through foot high grass without blinking. It’s just not cut out (no pun intended!) for that kind of job. A hover lawnmower that can’t pull in enough air will struggle to hover and will feel very heavy. This is often due to a build-up of grass clippings under the hood. Give the mower a sweep out and avoid mowing when the grass is damp to help prevent this issue. Where are Flymo lawnmowers made?

For small lawns (up to 100sqm) you should be ok with a cutting width of around 30 cm, medium lawns (100-250sqm) will need 35-40 cm and larger lawns (250sqm+) will need 40 cm+. Grass Collector Vs Mulching Handle– The handle is a two piece handle which you will need to fit together during assembly. You will see that half way up there are two wing knobs which connect the upper part of the handle to the bottom part. These can be loosened so that the handle can fold over for better storage. To avoid this, I walked slower for the rest of the cut and applied quite a hard pressure when pushing. If you’re cutting tall grass, the 1000 W engine may not be enough to get through it. The ideal cutting conditions for this mower seem to be well-manicured lawns that aren’t dense or heavy with growth. The cutting width of the lawnmower indicates the size of the lawn the mower can cover with ease. A rough guide to help you out is as follows. Grass Collection– The grass box has a pretty decent capacity and will store a nice amount of clippings in there before you have to stop and empty it. The mower does a good job of collecting these clippings too. The grass box is a little flimsy though and when lifting it up with a full load of clippings inside, the handle can come off! You can fix this easily by putting a couple of self tapping screws into the handle though and it’s something I’d recommend you do just to re-enforce it. Nobody wants the handle to come off the grass box when there’s a full load inside! The rear roller means it can cut right up to the edges of the lawn without scalping so you’ll get a neat finish even without using a trimmer. Finally, last but not least I have the Flymo Easistore rotary lawn mower. This mower is a good size for a medium garden with a 10 meter cable and 5 adjustable height settings it can be used all year round. If you really take pride in your lawn and are aiming for a high quality finish every time then this is a great option for you. This is a rear roller lawnmower so will achieve that perfect striped finish. The best lawnmower for your garden is dependant on your needs. A hover mower is lightweight, easy to mow with, and great for odd-shaped lawns as it handles corners well. Their shortcomings are they don’t leave a striped finish and they don’t work well on uneven, long, or steep lawns.

The 300R has a smaller 30 litre collection box and the larger 380R has a larger 45 litre grass collection box, should you prefer one of these other options.Grass Box– On to the grass box….. It’s got a 29 litre capacity which is about right for a smaller sized lawn. It fits onto the rear of the mower and is easy to attach and remove. You just lift up the safety flap which you will find at the rear of the mower and then attach it to the two location points you will see on the mower. Just let the flap down on the top of the grass box and you’ve done it. For people who have not tried an electric lawn mower before and are perhaps moving over from petrol, they’re going to notice some serious differences. While it won’t have the same power as your old petrol model, it’s got enough features to impress and makes the switch much easier. When you see how efficiently it cuts and how easy it is to use, you’ll be glad you made the change. Conclusion Modern homeowners don’t usually want to spend hours at a time looking after their garden. They want tools that will do the hard work for them and that are convenient. That’s exactly what you’ll get with the Flymo EasiMow 340R since it has a cut to edge feature that ensures you won’t need to worry too much about getting the trimmer out after mowing.

This mower can handle up to 400m2 lawn maximum. If your lawn is larger than this it will struggle to keep up. It can’t handle a garden that slopes any steeper than 1 in 6 slope so not a good option if your garden is steeper than this. Please note that during particularly busy periods, it may take a little longer to receive your delivery and our carrier may attempt to deliver to you on a Saturday. Faster DeliveryIt’s nowhere near as heavy as a petrol mower and easy to manoeuvre due to the wheels. The 30 cm cutting blade can easily handle lawns up to 500m2 and the 30-litre grass collection box is easy to remove and empty. The mower also needs an outdoor charging point that is weatherproof so sometimes it’s necessary to build a shelter for it. This needs to be added to the costs. These mowers are also high risk for robberies and they’re easily lifted out of the garden at night or when you’re not home. They do come with a pin code so thieves won’t be able to use it but it’s still a risk. It’s also great to note that there is a handy cable wrap so you won’t get in a twist when storing the mower. More importantly, you won’t have to spend ages untangling the wire when it comes to the next mow. Roller (Stripes) There are three stages to the assembly of the Flymo Easimo, two of them are straightforward and one is a little bit fiddly. When you open up the box you will see you’ve got the mower itself, the handle (which comes in 2 parts) and the grass box. Step one is just to attach the lower part of the handle to the mower unit itself. There’s nothing hard about this really, it’s just matter of putting a bolt through, placing a washer on and then tightening up a wing knob. You don’t need any tools to do this; your bare hands are fine! Once you’ve done that you have to do exactly the same thing to attach the upper part of the handle to the lower part. Be careful here though; make sure the upper handle is the right way up. You should be able to see the push button facing upwards. Once you’ve tightened up that wing nut you’re almost done. All that needs doing now is to assembly the grass box and that’s the fiddly part.
