About this deal

Anadolu Efes Biracılık ve Malt Sanayii A.Ş. (lit. Anadolu Efes Brewery and Malt Industries) produces and markets beer and malt and non-alcoholic beverages in a wide geographical area comprising Turkey, Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Anadolu Efes is a member of the Anadolu Group. Anadolu Group was founded in 1950 by the Özilhan and Yazıcı families. Exhibiting a rapid and sustainable growth since its inception, the Anadolu Group transformed into a holding company in 1969.

Efes is brewed by Anadolu Efes Biracılık ve Malt Sanayii A.Ş (Anadolu Efes for short) and was established in 1966. At about the same time the Türk Tuborg was granted permission to open their brewery. It did not take long for Efes to effectively become the number one brand in Turkey. In the 1980s they led a successful television advertising campaign, just before Turkey banned beer adverts. This helped it to stand out, it also benefited from intelligent sponsorship of sporting teams, and targeting the tourist market.

Beer Gourmets know that Draft Beer in keg is the freshest beer. the signature for the draftbeer freshness is the short life of the product. In my article on Turkish beer, I pointed out that Efes has pretty much cornered the market when it comes to beer. Thanks to Turkey’s banning of any form of beer advertising it is almost impossible to talk about similar Turkish beers. So I’ll have to recommend beers from other countries. EFES draft se od nedavno može pronaći na policama svih većih i bolje snabdevenih trgovačkih lanaca u Srbiji, ali i u frižiderima kafića i restorana. During the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire began to slowly crumble. With Greece and other countries rising and declaring independence. WW1 was the last throw of the dice for the Ottomans, aligning themselves with the Axis armies. After losing the war, the Ottoman empire was greatly reduced as land was ceded to the Greeks, Italians, French, and the British. This did not last long, with the people rising up in 1922 and declaring Turkish independence. This spelt the end of the Ottoman empire and in 1923 Turkey became an internationally recognised country.

Ono što izdvaja EFES draft, od ostalih piva na tržištu Srbije, je upravo to što je tehnologija proizvodnje ovog piva identična tehnologiji proizvodnje točenog piva Taste doesn't quite match the promise of the aroma. Mouth feel is a little simple. Aftertaste is also. It certainly is a bit unique...Mythos is what it reminds me of most. This is a little more bitter, but less crisp. The more I drink it, the more I like it. Actually it's really good. I'd say it's as good as a typical German pilsner such as Krombacher or Warsteiner. More refreshing with less hop punch. Though Turkey is a religious country, it is also a secular one. Meaning that religious laws do not affect the laws of the land. Which is why Turkey is not a dry country. After gaining independence, the government helped the Bomonti brewery to establish itself. Bomonti was Turkey’s biggest brewery for decades until it was overtaken by Efes. The Rise of EfesIn addition to its flagship Pilsener, Efes also produces several other beers, including Efes Draft, semi-pasteurised for a fresh, just brewed flavour with a 6 month shelf life, Efes Dark, double-roasted malt lager with 6.5% alcohol and hints of caramel, Efes Light, a 3.0% ABV take on the original, Efes Extra, a hoppier, 7.5% ABV lager, Efes Ice, a softer, more aromatic, ice-brewed version with 4.2% alcohol, and Efes Dark Brown, a 6.1% ABV double-roasted malt lager with a distinct coffee and chocolate bouquet. So Efes funded Turkey’s first beer festival “Brewstival” to highlight Turkish beer. This was great for the craft beer scene in Turkey as they were able to promote their beers, and it was good for Efes because they were able to create an “Us vs Them” mentality in Turkish beer. Crafted with care by Anadolu Efes, a renowned Turkish brewery, Efes Draft Beer undergoes a special semi-pasteurization process that ensures a fresh, just-brewed flavour that you won't find in regular lagers. The shorter pasteurization also contributes to a shorter shelf life, but don't worry, this beer's taste is so delightful that it won't stay in your fridge for too long. Not great in any area other than the appearance. One to avoid unless you've tried everything else on offer, and even this it probably isn't worth your while.

For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. The period between 1923 and the 1980s was dominated by political strife, with three military coups taking place. Since the 1980s, political turmoil has ended (apart from the odd attempted coup), and Turkey has thrived as a country. With massive increases in population, and closer ties with Europe. A History of Beer in Turkey Anadolu Efes currently continues its operations as a global company, which exports three quarters of its production. In terms of sales volume, it is the 6th largest brewer in Europe, and the 11th largest in the world. Exporting products to over 70 countries, Anadolu Efes is one of the key players in the region with a total of 15 breweries, six malt production facilities and one hops processing facility across Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine.

Unlike regular lagers, EFES Draft undergoes a shorter pasteurization process, resulting in a fresher and more vibrant flavour profile. While this grants it a shorter shelf life, its taste remains unparalleled! The thing about having a virtual monopoly on the beer in your country is that it certainly shortens the list of Turkish beers that I can put in this list. As I always talk about craft beer separately, I’ve got just two breweries to choose from. Efes or Türk Tuborg, and Tuborg isn’t even Turkish! Efes Pilsen 5% abv

How Much Alcohol is There in a Pint of Efes?

The first thing you'll notice is the foamy texture that caresses your palate, followed by a burst of fresh malt taste that dances on your taste buds. As you raise the glass, the enticing aroma of floral and citrus notes fills the air. The Ottomans did not allow beer to be brewed in many cities within their empire, yet it was often brewed illegally. It doesn’t appear as if the authorities were too strict in enforcing these rules. The Ottoman Empire existed for centuries, and the laws on beer changed over time. The first brewery in Istanbul was established in 1894 by Swiss brothers. This was called the Bomonti brewery. It produced Turkey’s first national beer: Tekel Birasi. Indulge in the delightful taste of Turkey's best-selling beer - EFES Draft Lager. This iconic brew is renowned for its unique barrel-shaped bottle and promises a light and refreshing experience that will leave you craving for more. The bottle is by far the coolest thing about this beer. It’s just Efes Pilsen that has been semi-pasteurised to remain “fresh”. Regular bottles of Efes Pilsen are fully pasteurised, meaning that they last longer but won’t taste as good. Sadly, the only time I had an Efes Draft was when fellow Beer N Biceps Podcaster Todd had an old bottle in his fridge. So I can’t say it was too fresh! Craft Beer in Turkey
