Her ideas can be quite random. She’ll just get this tiny glimpse from some scene in the novel and she’ll suddenly find herself sitting down and typing, and typing. Before you know it, the entire book is written.Ultimately though, we also get a decent plot that turns into quite the 'whodunnit' and keeps the story zipping along. Can Callum be redeemed? Hmmm.... Callum Torrio is the mafia boss. Hundreds of employees answering to him and only him. Living in the mansion with his daughter he trusts only himself. So what does he do when the girl he has been obsessed with finds him in a compromising position? One that they both enjoyed? Because now that he finally has her, he will be damned if he will let her go. I was really looking forward to this book, but it fell short for me. We meet Bianca when she’s graduating from college with her best friend. We find out that she’s had a crush on her best friends dad for years and has never acted on it.

Empire of Pain was the perfect final book of this series and it wrapped up everything unresolved in the first two books and showed alot of development of character all across everyone. Callum had one of the biggest character developments throughout the series. He went from a control freak to someone who is trusting, letting Bianca live her life and learned to apologize for his actions when he was wrong. He truly loves the baby and will always protect his family. He also became softer with Tatum and became the parent that she needs. We meet her after she just graduated college with her best friend Tatum. She is living with her boyfriend of five years at the time. Tatum is the daughter of billionaire/ gangster or maifia world. It’s really never defined what he does. Just that he bad and kills and has shady dealings. Bianca has always had a crush on her best friends dad who is twice her age but feels like he sees her as just a little girl. Until the night it all changes. Bianca sees Callum in middle of a sexual encounter and watches and pleases her self to act thinking he can’t see her. Little does she know he can. And their entire relationship changes from there. Bianca- despite suspecting she loves him - had fled Callum's infatuation only to discover a horrifying secret that could change everything.... no spoilers. What a rough ride Bianca and Callum have been on! I feel like my emotions have been on a roller coaster with them. There were moments of extreme rage, deep sorrow, but most of all, hope and love. Still addictive reading although it ends on another cliffhanger, which I'm not 100% sure is necessary. I found some elements really (too much of the dad, Tatum and long drawn out musing) could have been omitted altogether and this saga could have been resolved here.Also, 4 words since I don’t want to spoil anything, but THE FREAKING BELT SCENE. My jaw dropped, omg. I lapped up Book 1 because an obsessive, over the top, possessive bad boy (or very much a man in this case) is right up my street! Don't judge me... Bianca was so strong; she has been through so much with Callum, and finally being able to tell him what she wants and needs without him dictating what she does was something else considering how it started between them. She needed to set healthy boundaries. She loves him with all her heart, but she can't be his little caged bird anymore. Callum and Bianca grew a lot in this book. Some truths came to light but while new secrets were made. This book was even better than book 1.

i didnt quite like TATUM here..she did upset me in this book 🥲😮‍💨 but seriously im so excited for her & ROMERO's book 🥹🥹🩷🩷 I didn't even realize this was the first type of book like this I've read until I was reading a very very smutty pool scene ;). I remember looking away from the book full on blushing and laughing, saying something along the lines of "OMG this is so naughty" and then it hit me. THIS IS A FIRST!!!! Bianca is pregnant, and that is foremost on everyone's mind. She and Tutum are under a lot of stress with all the danger they have been exposed to. Not all of Callum's business dealings have been on the up and up. Unfortunately, his past is returning to cause trouble for him, putting his family through hell. The need for protection is higher than ever before. Callum is going out of his ever-loving mind, trying to arrange for the safety of his adult daughter, his unborn child, and the woman he loves. Too bad his arch-nemesis, Bianca's dad Charlie, didn't get the memo that he isn't the bad guy after all. The danger keeps finding Bianca, thanks to all of Callum's enemies. The race is on to end the threats against his family before someone ends up paying the ultimate price. To top it all off, secrets are revealed, and the consequences are dire. The question is, will Callum and Bianca ever get their happy ever after? Kase Jones is Maddie’s best friend’s dad, and almost twice her age, however he makes her blood hum, and her body ache like nobody else has before, and there isn’t any denying she wants him.Jenna slowly started learning that all of this hate and torment was for just one thing. Revenge. That is what Corey truly wanted, but why she did not know. Then Rex Winchester showed up. He was Corey’s cousin and someone that Jenna knew she should not be getting close to. He is an entire six feet of hotness, with a heart of gold and a smile which melted the panties off every girl within a fifty mile radius. He could’ve had anybody that he wanted, so why he chose Corey’s ex, the slutty, bullied girl, was beyond her. This series has definitely been one that I could not put down. I have eagerly devoured every book and overall, I really enjoyed the story. The story and the series is definitely outside of my normal reading genre with romance, but I’m glad I took a chance on this world. It’s dark, it breaks all the rules, and it is over the top in the best way. It just works for this world and these characters and I really enjoyed the series overall.
