About this deal

Findings from the Motorsport Network F1 Global Fan Survey indicate fans are very enthusiastic about the direction the sport is taking. Based on survey respondents, F1 strengthened its position as the global leader of motorsports, with a remarkable 90% of fans surveyed believing that Formula 1 is ‘the pinnacle of motorsport.’ In 2017, 25% of fans said the sport is in better health than 5 years ago – and that number has grown to 55%, and even higher amongst those under 35 years of age (59%). I don't know why I bother answering this.... But how the hell are you supposed to be a sucess at Minardi or Arrows? Without the right connections it is a dead end proposition. Maybe its time to change a few regulations, either on the side of the car tech, or on the championship scheme (a LeMans scheme, for example).

But, I'm sure most people will say that the NBA, or American basketball, is still the pinaccle of basketball. Its where the money, fame, glamour, and status is - its where players aspire to go. There might be more competitive leagues in other countries, there may be more fundamental basketball being played elsewhere, but the NBA is still the number one show. Its also about how tough it takes to get into "the club". The competition to get in is tough, and to be recognised as a 'great' is even tougher. To manage a basketball team may be just as tough - from marketing, recruiting, salaries, to managing the huge egos. We've seen before that with this generation of cars that any of these small bumps can make you spin and have a pretty heavy crash." But just two minutes later there was another red flag after Hulkenberg ran wide on the exit of Turn One, put his right rear wheel on the artificial grass outside the kerb and spun. F1 is a monster evolving everyday, with a lot to lose and very little to earn for most of the teams.

Diaries & Calendars

The 1980s also saw the beginnings of the global growth of Formula One, which continued throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The addition of the Brazilian and Japanese Grands Prix and the return of the United States Grand Prix (which had been absent since 1960) meant that every inhabited continent hosted a Formula One event during the 1980s. Chase Carey, Formula 1 Chairman and CEO, said: “Pirelli have been an important and valued partner to Formula 1® since 2011. They are leaders in providing innovative state of the art capabilities. They are a premium brand, a clear global leader in motorsport and our ongoing partnership with them is proof once more of our desire to align F1 with the best in motorsport and beyond. We are delighted to have reached this agreement, which guarantees a long-term stable future for such a crucial component of Formula 1®.” There was some, uhm friction in 2017, and when Räikkönen had his NASCAR-races, but I feel that's more down to some users coming in, with no interest in trying to learn something about a sport they logically know little about. If a person without IndyCar knowledge jumps in to the threads it won't be any bad reactions from that. As Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc battle it out head-to-head in the most hotly contested championship in years, this in-depth book, with a foreword from Haas team principal Guenther Steiner, tells the story of how the sport evolved into the exhilarating high octane spectacle it is today. It was decent," said the Briton, who was one of several drivers to sit out the first session, as Indycar driver Pato O'Ward was given a run in Norris' McLaren.

I'm not going to comment on the [cost cap] number because that's something we still want to discuss with the teams. What we are proposing, the purpose is to improve the sport. The purpose is to make the business more sustainable, bring the cars closer together but at a level that is still incredibly exciting. New PU rules must be attractive for new entrants and Customer teams must have access to equivalent performance. The book will link technical progress with the personalities involved, indeed many of the swiftest changes have come about as a result of accidents or tragedies — the death of Roland Ratzenberger at Imola in 1994, the same weekend as Ayrton Senna, could have been avoided by the HANS safety device. The introduction of the halo saved Romain Grosjean’s life in Bahrain last year, but only came about because of the tragic accident that claimed Jules Bianchi in Japan. You haven't really watched IndyCar have you? Also, I'd take Barber, Laguna Seca etc. over Paul Ricard and other tarmac-fields any day.

Only a few of the very few ever reach the pinnacle of this sport, even after having conquered the world elsewhere. The thing about the pinnacle of the sports world as a whole I'd definitely leave off, since IMHO that belongs to athletics. Over the years, F1 has undergone significant changes, both in terms of the cars and the rules governing the sport. The 1960s and 1970s saw a major shift in F1 towards aerodynamics and the use of wings to generate downforce, which greatly improved the cars' performance. Multiple race winner and multiple times vice-champion in F1 Rubens Barrichello struggled in Indycar. Now multiple F1 champion and legend Alonso doesn't even qualify for a 33-car grid. North American open wheeler series > F1.F1 is the pinnicle having more funds and investment in it to get advantage within specific rules, no other racing class gets that imput more to the point other major classes get "last years" stuff from F1. As for the original talk about how Mclaren cannot get higher than 34th - you'd either have to be insanely ignorant or insanely dishonest to really believe that meant anything. Stuff like this just reinforces more why I cant bother with the Indycar crowd here. They live in total delusion. The fact is that F1 is simply a much higher standard of talent and it's not even questionable. Another factor is the global appeal of F1. The sport has a massive fan base that spans the entire world, and the races are broadcast to millions of people. This means that the top F1 drivers are not only famous athletes, but also cultural icons. I also personally think that Indycar is a ****ing mess, and while some people like that it's 'chaotic', I think that just shows its lower standards of driving and course selection.
