Wayne has been hard at work updating the old V3 scenarios and making them compatible with V4! Keep an eye on this segment to see the reworked scenarios and try them out in V4 yourself. However, the recent switch to the V3 rules, and new lists for the beach defenders from Earth and Steel, has the fortifications pointed in as part of the main force. But the main aim of the game was to draw interest to the Flames of War game, and to the to Kapiti Wargaming Club, and I think we both admirably achieved that.Having passed the mid-year equinox, it's time to start thinking about next year. Last year, we introduced dynamic points for the Mid-War period, and they've been well received. Now, it's time to think about next year's Mid-War dynamic points update. All company commanders take pride in theirunits, but parachute company commanders takethat even further. They expect more from theirmen and in return the officers are willing to giveeverything for the company. With Hit The Beach you and a friend can split the contents and then beef up your armies with selected boxes from our Late War range, or even buy two copies (a likely choice given the value of Hit The Beach ), split both with one player taking Germans and the other Americans, and have near complete forces each ready for battle. However we do plan to have another go under the V2 version of the game and army list composition and see what difference that makes... I know I will get a lot less bunkers for one thing !

The box offers up a cool scenario featuring two Shermans, an M10, Tiger and StuG. So, you have a nice array of different options right out of the box.

I think the answer to fixing it lies somewhere in the middle – make it easier to get onto the beach, maybe having a guaranteed landing each turn after a particular turn like the new reserves rule. Maybe extend the time limit a couple of turns, but not too much, couple of turns maximum.

Flames of War is a 15mm, turn-based battle game by Battlefront, recreating historical battles that took place during World War II. The system is valued for it’s balance and realism, allowing players to take part in variety of assorted scenarios. I'm sure that a lot of folks are going to enjoy delving down into this set and enjoying a new avenue into World War II in 15mm. This year we want to keep the focus on Mid War and get that bedded down so please keep the discussion focused.Hit The Beach offers new players the chance to really sink their teeth into Flames Of War at exceptionally good value, and gives veteran players a great option of reinforcing their current armies or starting a new one.
