Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park will host the infamous Halloween Happenings for ten spooky days from Saturday 29th October to Friday 4th November 2022.

The Irish language is celebrated within the festival programme, and a wonderful array of local traditional Irish musicians will be playing throughout the weekend. You'll hear the story of the infamous and sadistic “Hanging Judge” who presided over the trial of the United Irishman Robert Emmet, as well as the legend of “Scaldbrother,” the infamous medieval thief, and Billy the Bowl, the 18th-century murderer, born without legs, who once terrorized two Dublin neighborhoods. The annual event was previously awarded No.1 Haunt in the World, Best Independent European Haunt and Most Entertaining Horror Experience. The incredible lineup of events includes comedy from Joanne McNally and David O’Doherty, music from Imelda May, Gavin James, and The Academic, a live podcast from Blindboy, and much more.Minister Martin said: “As we emerge from the impact of COVID-19, we know the tourism and hospitality industry has a key part to play in Ireland’s economic recovery. Immersive festivals play an important role in delivering brilliant visitor experiences, giving domestic and overseas visitors a unique opportunity to experience the very best of our culture, people and places. Halloween is a globally recognised holiday and Fáilte Ireland’s Púca festival is an excellent opportunity to promote Ireland as the place where it all began. I am pleased to officially launch the programme for Púca 2022 which will encourage visitors from around Ireland and the world to visit Meath, stay, explore and celebrate our ancient Samhain traditions.” To keep themselves from harm, the Celts often left food and drink outside to keep the spirits happy.

Púca will comprise four breathtaking days and five nights of music, myth, food, folklore, fire, feasting and merriment in the country where Halloween began, with a range of events on offer. In addition to the traditional ceremonies, celebrations, and offerings across Trim and Athboy, the Púca’s proclivity for mischief and entertainment will be brought to life with high-profile contemporary acts in music, comedy, and performance. On Saturday, October there is Samhain Family Festival which will allow visitors to become fully immersed Halloween experience with a range of workshops including Pimpin' Pumpkins and Transformin's Turnips.

They are also hosting their Best Scarecrow competition, featuring scarecrows made by families across Ireland. There will also be a live DJ set, food options, pumpkin games, vampires, dancers, giveaways and a Halloween Town. Other events to enjoy at the Spirits of Meath Halloween Festival include Pooka Spooka at Causey Farm, which will take place on Oct. 15th and again from Oct. 21-22 and from Oct.28-31, from 12 to 4 p.m. each day.
