Description

The new HD 25 Light has the same technical specification as the larger model. Compared to the older Light edition, its frequency response opens up considerably more, from the former 30 to 16,000 Hertz to 16 to 22,000 Hertz. The slightly increased impedance to 61,4 Ohm (averaged) compensates for the significantly increased sound pressure level of 120 decibels (according to the manufacturer’s specifications). Choosing an HD 25 means placing more emphasis on functionality and sound, and less on its understated yet appealing appearance. These headphones have thus established themselves as the most popular among DJs and broadcasters. So far, the light version has distanced itself from the classic mainly because of the missing swivel joints, but also because of its slightly less hefty sound. Notes:Wireless music creation with ultra-low latency and uncompressed audio with W+ Link technology. The split headband was exceptionally comfortable. Having the ability to adjust the two headbands allowed me to find the sweet spot easily. A good amount of headband padding and a solid amount of clamping force kept these on my head. Even when I was bopping away mid-set.

Uncompressed and robust 16ms latency connection for high quality wireless audio designed for enhanced freedom and creativity.

Customer Service

Overall, the improved HD25 Light is now a genuinely impressive entry-level option, offering virtually identical sound to the more expensive models but at a very attractive low price. The upgraded drivers make all the difference, meaning that you can now get the classic HD25 sound on a budget. Sennheiser's HD25 headphones have been supported by sound creators, music fans, and DJs around the world. Oyaide has developed the "HPC-HD25 V2" headphone re-cable for the HD25 to maximize its potential. Only the best sound. The Sennheiser HD25s are premium quality, high-performance headphones designed for music enthusiasts and digital musicians. The ultra-wide frequency response (16 Hz - 22kHz) makes them ideal for both monitoring and casual listening, allowing you to hear every nuance of the original sound as it was intended. The set is available in many different colours, so you can leave a creative note on your headphone and you can give an old headphone a new look within seconds. With the Earpad Set Teddy you cann assure a perfect and great look of your professional Sennheiser and AKG DJ headphones. As always, the capsules can be rotated and the split headband ensures a perfect fit, not matter how hard you find yourself nodding your head while in the mix. Even if you find yourself mixing for long periods of time, the Sennhesier HD25 remain comfortable and they’re built to last – with a tough single-sided cable which can be detached if required.

Free silver solder SS-47 for high sound quality and environmental friendliness. Reasonably priced. Manufactured in Japan under strict production control. As far as the other accessories go, Sennheiser offer a range of options such as velour earpads, coiled cables and replacement parts. I prefer the comfort of the velour earpads, which slightly reduce isolation but which I also find balance out the sound a little. I also prefer a coiled cable for DJ use and straight for studio use and general listening, but this is very much a matter of personal preference. Either way, the modular design of the Lights also means that you can easily replace parts just as easily as you can on the other models, which has always been a major advantage of the HD25s, allowing you to customise them slightly but more importantly to repair them if you do happen to damage anything. Notes:A new refined model of the HPC-HD25 series, more suitable for the field, is now available from the NEO brand! Updated for 2020, the HD25 Lights are the entry-level version of the classics, offering a slightly cut-down feature set when compared with the standard HD25 model. Perhaps the best way to understand what the Light offers is to compare with the top-of-the-range HD25 Plus model, which comes in around twice the price of the Lights. With the Plus you get a split headband with rotating ear cups, a choice of coiled or straight cables, replacement earpads and a carry case. The Light has a more simple single-piece headband without rotating cups, a straight cable as standard, one set of faux-leather earpads and no case. If the headphones have sound in only one ear or differing sound levels in each ear or the sound in general is not what you expected then it needs to be determined where the issue lies - with the headphones or with the audio source.Critically acclaimed sound stage specifically designed for music creation with a clear and highly detailed sound representation.

All DJ headphones are designed to do exactly the same thing: they’ve got to be clear and loud to help you monitor your mixes, and they’ve got to be comfortable enough to use for an extended period. The way manufacturers go about achieving that can differ quite substantially in practice. Just look at the different design approaches between the Sennheiser HD25 and the Denon DJ HP1100 for example.Danish brand AIAIAI take the idea of customisation to extreme levels, offering a huge range of optional drivers, ear cups, cables and headbands for their TMA-2 headphones. The modular design means that owners can customise and tweak the headphones into thousands of different configurations to suit their personal needs, whether it’s for DJ use, studio production or just listening. Here at Sennheiser we use dynamic microphones for distortion measurements on loudspeakers at very high sound pressure levels. At Sennheiser we have measured the SPL and THD inside a large 2" driver/horn combination with a MD 421. The max SPL this combination was able to produce was 150 dB and the THD level recorded by a MD 421 was below 1% (produced by the driver not by the mic)

The EAH-DJ1200 is an upgraded version of the bestselling RP-DJ1210 model, and it’s very much in keeping with the no-nonsense approach of the brand’s turntables. The EAHs have a slightly old-school look to them when compared to the sleek, smooth aesthetic of the AIAIAI model above, but it’s very much a case of function over form here, with a focus on durability and comfort to match the powerful, clear sound.Perhaps the only minor gripe I can present is that since these do feature an on-ear design, some might find the direct pressure on your ears uncomfortable over longer sessions. In my testing, I didn’t encounter discomfort, but your mileage may vary. Despite the tight grip and on-ear design, these hold up pretty well even if you wear glasses, but some might prefer more plush over-ear cups over this style. With the updated 2020 model, Sennheiser claim to have improved the drivers for more accurate sound. It’s not entirely clear what the changes involve on a technical level, but we strongly suspect that the Light now uses identical drivers to the Plus model: they’re certainly visually identical and the improved frequency response specs (16 Hz – 22 kHz) match the more expensive model exactly (the old model used a slightly cheaper driver and was only rated at 30 Hz – 16 kHz response). Boasting some of the biggest drivers on the market at 53mm, there’s no doubt that Denon’s flagship HP1100 headphones have been designed with bass response very much in mind. That’s evident in their sound presentation, which is heavy on bottom end but doesn’t sacrifice clarity or precision as a result. Although the HD25 Light may be a more affordable option, it still holds its own in terms of sound. The specs are identical to the more expensive models, and we suspect they all use exactly the same drivers. The weight difference (around 20 grams lighter than the regular HD25 model) isn’t really the main selling point here so much as the fact that the Lights offer great value with sound that matches the more expensive versions in the Sennheiser range. If you can live without the fancier features of the more expensive models, the Lights are a bargain. More info/Buy Pros
