An advance reading copy of Him by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.

I’m impressed, too. I haven’t followed any of the west coast teams this season. I was too busy concentrating on the ones in our conference, studying the game tapes to find a way to beat them. But now that post-season is underway, it’s time to assess the teams we might face in the championship if we make it to the final round. Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend… and a big one to learn about himself. It’s been nearly four years since I’ve seen or spoken to the guy. What the hell will I even say to him? How do you apologize to someone for cutting them out of your life without so much as an explanation? My heart is pounding in my ears. Do I yell at him now? Is that the right thing to do? I don’t know what Jamie needs. If I knew, I’d give it to him. If you're looking for a fun and sexy NA MM romance, you really should look no further. Sabrina Bowen and Elle Kennedy together are a dynamic powerhouse and I only hope they have more books planned together for the future because I'd read them all without a second thought.

The post-season is down to just two fateful games, which means I need to stay sharp. I need to be focused. Northern Mass hasn’t won a Frozen Four championship in fifteen years, and as the leading scorer, I’m determined to seal this victory before I graduate.

Yeah.” And it isn’t exactly a lie. I can guarantee that Friday’s trip to Boston is in the forefront of two dozen other players’ minds this morning. And about a zillion fans’. I simply loved the interaction between Jamie and Wes. Their bond is so strong even after 4 years without speaking. I command the authors for making the transition to Jamie's true sexuality as natural as it did. It was like the reader was discovering everything along with him and it just made it that much better. As for Wes? Don't even get me started on that man. He was my favorite part about this book. He's a rule breaking wise ass, but beneath the muscles and tattoos is a heart of gold. His feelings for Jamie were so heart melting and heart breaking, I just wanted to reach through my kindle and hug him. I would’ve gotten trashed if she hadn’t shown up. So…uh, yeah, I guess it was cool of her to come get me before I got too wasted.” His mouth twitches. “Meaning I saw you disappear with that meathead. You guys were still AWOL when Em finally dragged me home at two.”

He starts off the meeting by reminding us—one by one—what each of us did wrong in practice yesterday. Which is completely unnecessary, because yesterday’s criticism still burns in my gut. I screwed up one of the faceoff drills, dropped passes I had no business dropping, missed on goal when I had an easy shot. It was just one of those crappy practices where nothing goes right, and I’ve already vowed to get my shit together when we hit the ice tomorrow. Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself. I don’t know how to explain what’s wrong. I’ve been really unhappy, but I don’t want him to think it’s his fault. For Blake Riley, there is no better opportunity than being the best man at a wedding where Jess is the maid of honor. Fate has given him a gift and he has every intention of using it.

So book two starts shortly after the end of the first one. Jamie is coaching, and Wes is having a fantastic rookie season. All should be great except they have to hide their relationship. To make matters worse Wes's teammate moves into their apartment building and he has no qualms about stopping over at any time uninvited. Plus, it was compelling to read about Wes and Jaime's differing views and feelings on the subject. While Wes was immensely passionate and had his eyes firmly set on a professional career, we witness Jaime's heart beginning to stray from his original dreams of athletic stardom. The discovery part of this story, you could say, went vastly beyond just his sexuality. Well this was my first full-on foray into M/M. I’d dabbled before with other stories where it was a side story and had liked it. Now I get the allure…there's something that's almost naughty or sinful about it in a delightfully delicious way! And it's scorching HOT!!

Instead, I have to plan a wedding with the aforementioned hottie and share a too-small guesthouse in steamy Miami.I enjoyed all kind all m/m romances, but my favorite is GFY m/m novels when one of the characters (or both of them) is (are) struggling to accept the 'new' reality, that he is /they are gay or like in this case bi. While Jamie didn’t struggle too much with everything like I expected, I think his self-discovery felt natural. I really liked how he handled everything he figured out about himself. There’s no stupid, unnecessary drama, (even if the two guys have to face some obstacles) which I enjoyed. Medical emergencies used as a major catalyst for a story. Call me cold hearted but I'm just bored with it being used. It's so cliche, and it just added unnecessary drama. I wish that their relationship had come out a different way/. The way this played out just kind of bored me.
