For a long time, he was the only one who knew about Poppy’s bizarre family history involving the Sanderson sisters. Like Poppy, he doesn’t believe in evil witches or old-timey ghosts . . . until he comes face-to-face with them. As he would say, “I didn’t ex-specter this!” Why not give this job to an actual fan who would of been paid in peanuts to do this job properly and not write so many inaccuracies that it seems like fanfiction. They show a worn look and the beginnings of the chapters start with detailed calligraphy letters. Very reminiscent of the sisters’ spell book. This in itself can be a pure collector’s item. I’m surprised how low the price is as there is so much detail in the illustrations, the exterior and the overall feel of the book. I literally almost had tears in my eyes when I got my first look. The nostalgia will overwhelm you and you, as a Hocus Pocus fan, will protect this amazing book at all costs. Now, it has been a fair while since I have seen the film, but I think this novelization basically recounts the tale as it appears on screen. So, if you are a big fan of the film, I would guess that this would appeal to you.As a story, it is a straightforward tale, without much surprise or suspense. Maybe if the reader loved the movie, it would be fun to read the novelization. Three stars for the writing, and five big stars for the artwork of Gris Grimly! A must-see for fans of the cult classic film, this novelization was a good read. I had just recently watched the new sequel film, so when I stumbled across this novelization at my library, I was thrilled to see what might have been in store for readers in this revisit of the original film. The illustrations in this book are quite well done and the story is also very well written. So far I’ve only read the prologue which is the first scene of the film until we see the sisters being hanged. I can really say that I will enjoy reading this book! And at the perfect time, with Hocus Pocus 2 coming out in less than a month!

There is also on the family tree another scrawled out face with the name of E. Podbury. This is the name of the fourth Sanderson sisters from 2018 sequel book. Why? Just why? Please let this not be a implication and reflection of the upcoming film. When they say “the illustrated novelization,” they really mean the illustrated novelization. You probably need to have seen the movie at least once to follow the story well, but if you’ve seen the movie enough times, you’ll realize this is essentially a screenplay fluffed into a novel (hence “novelization”). At several points, an editor could have been utilized to clean up portions that were poorly conveyed — things that were written to capture an image from the film (leading to confusion or redundancy in the writing) or oddly placed breaks that only make sense as scene changes on screen (but not so much on paper). Hocus Pocus is beloved by Halloween enthusiasts all over the world. Diving once more into the world of witches, this electrifying two-part young adult novel, released on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 1993 film, marks a new era of Hocus Pocus. Fans will be spellbound by a fresh retelling of the original film, followed by the all-new sequel that continues the story with the next generation of Salem teens. Or they are not allowed to make the cover with the eye due to reasons unknown perhaps they are going to make a book with the eye in the future.
