The design of the Sennheiser IE 200 is, at least to me, intended not to attract much attention. Aside from the branding and lettering you wouldn’t necessarily look at these headphones and say ‘Sennheiser!’ There’s a very fuss-free, get on with business theme with these in-ear monitors. In this review, I will be discussing the Simgot EM6L, comparing it with the Xenns Mangird Top and QKZ HBB Khan. I have tested the EM6L using the Moondrop Moonriver 2 Ti and Fiio Q3 Dac Amp. The Sennheiser IE 200 is a single dynamic driver in-ear monitor. It offers an MMCX detachable cable system combined with a special tip adjustment process that can diminish or accentuate the bass performance depending on the positioning, (more in our tips section below). Again what a beautifully done stage presentation. I was wishing for more resolution with this song on the clarity and vocals but a bit of a trade-off with less high frequency energy The trebles on the EM6L are really well extended. They are very airy and detailed. However, the detailed trebles come with their cons too. As such, the EM6L is a bit sibilant. It also doesn't compare to the Xenns Top, which has very well extended, extremely detailed, and quality trebles but presents them in a controlled and smooth manner. Hence, it is not fatiguing or overwhelming during long sessions. The Top also has better technicality and separations than the EM6L or the Khan by a huge margin (understandably as they belong in different price ratios). So the trebles sound better on the Xenns Top. The EM6L sometimes sounds fatiguing and piercing with treble-heavy songs.

Supplied with three sizes of silicone and three sizes of memory foam ear tips, there’s a fitting to suit you. The angled design fits snugly, meaning that you get a natural level of sound isolation from the outside world. At Peter Tyson we pride ourselves on prompt, efficient delivery. Please note that the daily cut off time for all next day delivery services is 3pm. For tuning the IEMs, Sennheiser makes extensive use of the nozzle. The IE 200 use a damper within the nozzle to smooth out peaks. Bottom line, the tuning of the IE200 is fantastic. It seems to play well with every genre I threw at it. There was never any sibilance or other harshness even at higher volumes.Couldn’t test the advertised dual tuning modes as the ear tips would go all the way through when inserted in the ear canals. At this price point, I have zero complaints about the build. They are made from plastic compared to the metal on the I600. That said, the plastic feels extremely high quality. This is a gateway drug to the rabbit hole that we lovingly call 'audiophilia'. With the legendary Sennheiser build quality and at the price it has been launched, this is a no-brainer recommendation for someone looking to taste what a properly tuned DD set is supposed to sound like and can accomplish with one 7mm driver that competitors with 12-20 drivers can't even fathom.

We have reviewed the IE 600 previously though it is a big step in performance and price. The closer sibling is the IE 300 though sadly we have yet to review that one. That’s when I used the Shanling UP5 single ended output from my phone and listened to a ESS dac and knew we were going in the right direction In the vast majority of cases we will not be able to install the cabinet doors to built-in laundry products as the fittings very rarely match up. We will try our best however if we are unable to do this we will still install connect to plumbing and put the appliance in situ.

Should you buy the Sennheiser IE 200?

In the past years, Sennheiser has positively surprised us with a lot of top-quality products such as the HD 800 (S), the HD 660 S, the HD 560 and several other HD 5-series headphones. Sennheiser has also been active on the IEM and TWS market and the IE inear series and Momentum True Wireless headphones score very well there.

The IE200’s 7mm dynamic drivers aren’t ridiculously power-hungry, so you don’t need high-end hardware to drive them. They’re perfectly happy hooked up to a smartphone, so there’s no need to also invest in a headphone amplifier. Whatever you plug them in to, expect wonderfully precise and detailed sound for the money. In the bass-boosted profile, the treble is smoothly rolled-off with a subtle boost near 15kHz to add some air into the mix. With excellent build quality, supreme comfort, and a fantastic sonic performance for the money, the Sennheiser IE200 is an excellent entry-level IEM. They don’t punch too far above their weight, so as not to tread on the firm’s pricier IEM offerings, but have a more intimate presentation than what many Asian alternatives (affectionately known as ChiFi in certain headphone enthusiast circles) deliver. Unlike the IE600, the IE200 only comes with one cable (3.5mm). It’s different from the newer Sennheiser IEMs. It is a thin braded cable. It has a nice feel to it and is resistant to tangles.The soundstage is wide and far and every note or element is rightly positioned with providing good holographic exposure. The imaging could be better but to be honest it is very suiting to my taste because of such a beautiful tonality. The separation is commendable as the elements have enough space to breathe and perform where they are placed distant enough to be easily pinpointed as to describe where the sound is coming from. With the IE 200 Sennheiser is featuring their dual-tuneable ear tips. Basically, this means that you can tune the bass presentation depending on how you place the tip on the nozzle. When you place the tip more to the front, the bass presentation is lighter as you can see in the image below.
