And as more conditions arise, it’s clear there’s a fine line between commitment and betrayal… and neither of us knows where that line falls. Aubrey will always be his and he intends to make her remember no matter how much time it might take. I couldn’t stop laughing at how declan kept count Every time everly would get out of the car and open the door before he got the chance to open it for her or every time she’d walk away defying him like dammn where do you find him from because I want him 😍😍 A new family, the Stonewoods, moves in next door with three boys, Jett, Jax, and Jay (a little easy to mix those up) as Jett is the oldest by a few years he doesn’t have much to do with Brey or the friendship that begins to build between Brey, Jax, and Jay. Brey gets close to the Stonewoods all the while making sure that she doesn’t give up what happens at home. This book may be unsuitable for people under 18 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

Jax was admittedly kinda annoying. He was so used to getting everything he wanted that I think hurt his and Brey’s relationship. Though by the end I did like him more. I very clearly missed a series with Declan’s siblings or maybe his brother-in-laws. There was so much going on in that regard that I was just lost. Truly, the men didn’t interest me very much, giving off the same vibe as Declan, but I might look into it if only for his sisters that seem absolutely hilarious.Really just not into this at all. I hated all the jealousy and cheating crap. Maybe it wasn’t real cheating (can’t be sure didn’t finish book) but it felt like it was. I hate this whole attitude problem the male love interest has… like why can’t you at the bare minimum apologize to her? Ik he can’t explain the her dad thing yet but idk why he’s surprised she keeps pushing him away when she was clearly broken by him leaving (and for good reason). he did everything so he could get her her revenge on her dad but did anyone ask her what she wanted? No… maybe she just wanted to be done with him….. after living an abusive life with him.

I’m so utterly disappointed because this book sounded so interesting…and it didn’t deliver any of that. Everly and Declan can't stand each other, but they are forced into a marriage of convenience for a year, so that Declan can keep his companies and Everly something very dear to her, then they are forced to live together, soon the tension that is palpable between them from the beginning is impossible to deny, I loved their pull and push, their sizzling chemistry is pure fire, and their scenes are so so steamy, my tablet almost caught fire. Heart of a Monster: Violence, steamy sexual scenes, drinking, cancer, suicide, mentions of sexual abuse of a minor (does not go into graphic detail) THE BETRAYAL!!! i felt like it was so unnecessary? like he was trying to get her to trust him and then did a complete 180 at the drop of a hat. he could’ve just told her he loved her and wanted a baby with her not because of the will??? instead he breaks her heart and starts “dating” HER SISTER??? he tells her he will have a baby with her instead and nothing will change between them ARE U FR??? Thrive” by Shain Rose is another interesting friends-to-lovers romance in the Stonewood Brothers series of novels that can be read as a standalone.Aubrey and Jax's story spanned for more than a decade. They met as children, but a tragic circumstance pulls them apart. Although both fought their feelings for years and were caught in a web of lies and deceit, some things are inevitable and so was them coming together at last. Twenty-one times you haven’t listened, haven’t let me open the door for you, haven’t let me take care of you.” Here’s the thing: I hate books with twins. I didn’t know that there would be twins when I started reading this so I tried to push past it (I promise I really did). Like usual with twins in books, there’s secrets, competitive (ish) attitudes, good-twin/bad-twin complexes, and all around a lot of hurt on both sides. I could have moved on past all of this. What I couldn’t move past was the MMC’s relationship with the twin. Shain Rose is an author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She fights for love one word a time. Those happily ever afters can be difficult to get to sometimes! Little did Jax and his brothers know, Aubrey lives in a household plagued by abuse. Her father has a tight grip on everything in her and her mother's lives. He's verbally, emotionally, physically, and financially abusive. Aubrey goes to great lengths to avoid giving him any reason to unleash his anger on her and her mother. She's not allowed to have friends, express herself through clothing or hobbies—her father controls every aspect of her existence.

Delilah had eventually ghosted Dante much to his disappointment. She’d finished her degree and was currently nursing in Puerto Rico. There were definitely some steamy scenes, but they were never too long or too short, they fit perfectly into the story. Jax and Brey definitely had some good chemistry and it showed. This book covers some heavy subjects that I feel are super relatable to a lot of people, especially women (i.e. miscarriages) as well as things like heartbreak, anxiety, and depression. But it overall helped the characters become more relatable and I loved how their broken pieces just fit each other so well. Their romance had all the tension and heat, while giving you some tiny swoonworthy moments between the couple.Trigger warning of Domestic Abuse, kidnapping & child abuse and continued emotional childhood trauma through the story. My favourite part was the way Declan just couldn’t get over everly wearing wes’s jersey and demanded she take it off throughout the book. Even till the end he was just happy to see her wear the jersey with his name on it was swoon worthy.🥹🥵 anyway he’s seen all over with her sister and then he finally tells everly that it was all a setup to get her moms studio, he was never going to be with anastasia, etc. this girl folds so fast lmao like she was all hell bent on divorce, she’s quitting, moving on but he tells her that and it’s all forgotten. embarrassing Disclaimer: I was provided an advance reader copy by the publisher in exchange for my unbiased review and opinions.
