THE AUTHOR: Jeffrey Howard Archer, Baron Archer of Weston-super-Mare (born 15 April 1940) is an English author and former politician. This was an interesting story and while the telling is a bit choppy as we jump from case to case, I think readers will enjoy this layered novel and its many different locales. Look for this book in stores October 19th in Canada!

Exited as I was over having been approved for ‘a new Archer’, I must admit I’m a little disappointed now. I’m not in the habit of copying blurb texts in my review, but this time I will. William tried to remember how much he'd received when he changed a hundred pounds into dollars just before he'd joined the ship the previous evening. But he hesitated for too long.At the end of the audiobook is an excellent interview with Jeffrey Archer. Please don't skip this, it's priceless.

Enter one of the standout characters of the novel, young (and extremely affluent, want-to-be FBI agent) James Buchanan, the grandson of the ship's owner, Fraser Buchanan - who unexpectedly dies aboard. The book tells the testimonies of guys born worlds apart. They don’t have anything in common besides the same date of birth and an eagerness to reach life. William Lowell Kane is a rich and effective elite magnificence, whilst Abel Rosnovski is a pole who was born in a scenario of wonderful poverty and finally migrated to the United States.Maybe a timing issue for me, but this one didn't "ding as many dongs" as the other three books in the series for me.

My wife and I gave that question some considerable thought before we settled on a banker. I grew up in Shoreham, a small town in England, in the sixties, and the local bank manager was a friend of my father's. So I thought I'd get away with it for a couple of weeks.' I would not have laughed aloud if I didn't suspect the author wrote this part with sincere intentions. Which disturbs me greatly. Harry Clifton remains determined to get Anatoly Babakov released from a gulag in Siberia, following the international success of his acclaimed book, Uncle Joe. But then something unexpected happens that none of them could have anticipated.While on the cruise ship, a suspicious death takes place prompting some detective work to be done by William. He also happens to make the acquaintance of a young American, an aspiring policeman himself, whose family happens to own the cruise ship company they’re sailing with. There’s a definite feeling that we’re going to hear more about this young man in future books in the series. William put the book he was reading on the table in front of him and took a closer look at the earnest young American who seemed desperate not to be thought of as a child, although he hadn't started shaving. The word 'preppy' immediately came to mind. Estate agent, car salesman, and funeral director. All of which we were fairly confident wouldn't be followed by never ending questions.'
