About this deal

TV with stand: 762 x 1243 x 227 mm (H x W x D) - Stand: 18 x 600 x 227 mm (H x W x D) - Boxed: 860 x 1369 x 154 mm (H x W x D) Another common issue that you can find with almost all smart TVs in the market is connectivity, and there are different reasons behind it. You can try fixing the location for those using digital antennas to see if it improves the signal. My JVC TV Turns On and Off at Random

Upscaling is somewhat disappointing. While the image is sharp, colours appear washed out compared with the TV’s handling of native 4K content. The most basic thing to look at is the remote control. You might have a defective power button that causes the problem. One thing I did find during testing was that, although easy to navigate, Fire TV felt clunky at times. There were often frequent pauses and stutters when accessing apps, changing settings and browsing through menus, which hindered the experience a little, although thankfully these stutters weren’t common. So, should you be wary of these bargain TVs? Is one store brand better than other? Or do you need to spend a bit more on a more recognisable brand to get the best experience? The Omni QLED may not be the most comprehensive gaming TV, with no 120Hz support on any of its HDMI ports, but it’s hard to argue against what it does offer for gamers at such a budget price. So when you see a smart, 4K, HDR Bush TV in your local Argos or Sainsburys – just like a Samsung but for half the price – it's easy to be tempted. You’re better off using the automatic resolution than forcing a setting that your Internet connection cannot handle.

So, if you’re on the lookout for a good TV without breaking the bank, consider JVC as part of your choices. JVC TV Use the Android TV System: That said, if you can get your hands on a modern JVC TV, it’s will be worth your money, given the quality. Sources: The first thing you need to know about 4k resolution is that not all media are uploaded or streamed in 4k. Our testing has shown us that a long list of features doesn't necessarily make a good TV. A screen capable of displaying 4K resolution may be terrible at showing HD content. The built-in TV speakers should suit most people and situations but if you are looking for a bolder sound, it may well be worth considering a soundbar just to add that extra level of depth.

Even if your TV is certified for 4k streaming, if you don’t meet the minimum speed, you won’t stream in 4k. As the JVC employs a VA-type LCD panel, it has a familiar set of pros and cons. Viewed head-on, it supplies a surprisingly vivid, high-contrast image. Move even slightly away from head-on, however, and the contrast and colours fade away rapidly; the viewing angles are narrow at best. As a result, wall-mounting it above eye-level is a no-no, and you’ll want to be seated directly in front wherever possible, which may be awkward in many living rooms. Please note: Failure to produce the card and relevant ID means we are unable to release goods on collection. It’s a shame, then, that Dolby Vision content in the Disney+ app suffered from some horrible juddering during our testing. Netflix was seemingly unaffected but watching content via Disney’s streaming service was blighted with hitches and jerks throughout. Once you notice it, it’s very distracting. Hopefully this is something which can be ironed out with a future software update.

A good example of this is YouTube. Not all the videos you see on YouTube are rendered and uploaded in 4k. The JVC LT-55CF890 features two 20W speakers that support DTS HD and DTS Virtual:X. Unlike the 50- and 65-inch models, there’s no Dolby Audio. However, DTS Virtual:X does a good job of creating a large, immersive sound. With Game mode switched on, the Omni QLED processed intense moments well. Switching between targets and motion processing felt smooth, with changes from sections of calm into action feeling seamless. This is in part thanks to the Omni QLED's very low input lag time. Using the Leo Bodnar 4K input lag tester, the Omni QLED yielded a result of 10.4ms, which is an excellent result for a TV at this price and even rivals some of the best 120Hz TVs.You can also get JVC TVs using the Fire TV platform based on Android TV in some regions. Cons of JVC TVs: The Omni QLED may not have the best picture on the market, but considering its price range, I was surprised with just how detailed and vivid its picture was and how well it punches above its weight. In streaming services, when your Internet connection is poor, you won’t stream at high quality. That is why many streaming platforms automatically adapt to the quality of your connection. It's been a while since we've tested these TVs and this is largely because the models don't stay on sale for very long and we prioritise testing hundreds of TVs from more well known brands that are more widely available. The average scores in the table are across several years of testing, but we haven't tested any store brand TVs since 2018. The price of store-brand TVs may certainly be tempting, as may what appear to be a wide range of features that, on paper at least, make them a match for the best Samsung and LG have to offer.
