Russia is a secular and democratic country where all religions enjoy equal respect... Even more applicable it is to the holy scriptures of various faiths -- whether it is the Bible, the Holy Quran, Torah, Avesta and, of course, Bhagavad Gita -- the great source of wisdom for the people of India and the world. Krishna, one of the most beloved characters of the Hindu pantheon, has been portrayed in many lights: a god-child, a prankster, a model lover, a divine hero, an exemplary ruler, and the Supreme Being. In The Complete Life of Krishna, Vanamali, a leading Krishna expert from a long line of prominent Krishna devotees, provides the first book in English or Sanskrit to cover the complete range of the avatar’s life. Krishna Books Inc (“KBI”) is not an “arm” of the BBT any more than Hansadutta dasa was ever its “head.” Rather, KBI is an independent nonprofit licensee authorized to print and publish the pre-1978 literary works of His Divine Grace. KBI is controlled by a nine member board of directors — and not, obviously, by any one person. Srila Prabhupada established the BBT in May 5th 1972 to secure that his books be printet and distributed widely around the world. In 1988 eleven years after Srila Prabhupada left us, BBTI was started, and the BBT was left as an emty shell as far as publishing and distribution is conserned. Please notice the small difference in the name (”international” or an ”I” added.) There is however a gulf of difference judicial and practically. BBTI is not bound by, and do not follow all, the rules Srila Prabhupada made for his BBT.

These days it might be more likely that the demons are visiting… And demons also, they have great technology and mystic powers. So they also, generally, will not be visible to us.

The Vedic literatures are the most advanced perfect literatures in existence. Such advanced literatures can not exist unless there was an advanced civilisation that produced and appreciated them. The demigods have got essential roles to play in the management and operation of the material world, they are free to travel within the material world, so obviously some of them are coming here and observing and managing the situation, but we can’t see them.

BBTI (Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.) is a California corporation (non-profit) that was registered in 1988, in a deliberate attempt to bypass the legal trust.In June 2011, a group linked to the Russian Orthodox Church had demanded a ban owing to an alleged "conflict of interests" between the Russian followers of Krishna and local authorities in the Siberian region of Tomsk. This latter point — that the BBT is independent of ISKCON — was an express condition of the trust document executed by Srila Prabhupada in Los Angeles in 1972 (and was reaffirmed in the BBTI v Kary case in 1998). Of course, if ISKCON rallied for the pre-1978 books and pressure was placed on the BBT to only print the pre-1978 books, the BBT would have to take note — but the GBC cannot just flip a switch to make it happen.
