He offers an army of battle droids a chance to surrender, but is rejected. He's notably the only Jedi that has ever tried to reason with battle droids. Hope Spot: After Anakin confesses his findings of Palpatine being a Sith Lord, Mace thanks the Jedi Knight and tells him that he will finally earn his trust when the confrontation is over. Surely simply knowing the information and being able to notice references that others cannot is good enough, or do you need that surefire satifaction from making someone look as if they are an idiot. Bling-Bling-BANG!: His lightsaber hilt is studded with electrum, an alloy of gold and silver, as part of his privileges as a high-ranking Jedi Master. He evidently treated the clone troopers with respect, going out of his way to save as many as he could during his missions, as well as being sullen at their deaths. Which brings us to 2022, and potentially the most baffling set anchored around Mace Windu to date. 75342 Republic Fighter Tank is the third iteration of a vehicle that’s only ever made fleeting appearances in TV shows and video games, and includes Mace and three of his purple-tinted 187th Legion Clone Troopers.

He's claimed to have destroyed hundreds of thousands of battle droids, given Mace is not one to brag or exaggerate, that means he's been keeping count of his kills. Knight in Sour Armor: Mace is far more cynical than Yoda to the point where he was distinctly unwilling to trust either Anakin or the Senate's legal system in Revenge of the Sith. Finally, from Volume 2, there’s Chapter 23-25. Mace appears without armor, but briefly flies his purple Ep3 starfighter. This might be the first instance of purple as his signature color, excluding the lightsaber blade, since his Ep2 starfighter was fairly generic ( 7868). Most of the clones he fights alongside are in basic white, and don’t seem to be assigned to him. What few unit markings I can see look like blue or red ARC Troopers.
Death by Irony: The guy who distrusted Anakin the most dies because Anakin finally earned his trust. Purple Is Powerful: He's one of the most powerful Jedi to ever live and his lightsaber's blade is purple. Poor Communication Kills: A large part of why Mace distrusts Anakin is because of how heavily he lets his emotions dictate his actions, and because of how close he is to Palpatine, whom Mace feels is grabbing at too much power. However, he never tells Anakin either of these things, even when the Council asks him to spy on the Senator, which only ends up making the relationship between the two strained. Similarly, he doesn't explain that Anakin being far too emotional about not getting the rank of Master is what prevents him from getting the rank of Master.

This Party’s Over effectively pads out the Galactic Republic affiliation with some interesting alternatives for Clone support troopers, lots of potential mobility and, in the form of Commander Ponds, one of the most significant options within Shatterpoint squad-building in general.You want to keep them close to each other and Ponds, as they will not only be Immune but can also gain Coordinate Fire. Meaning they will be far tougher and can dish out more damage! Commander Ponds is slightly ‘lighter; looking clone, the model equipped with just a trusty DC-17 Blaster Pistol, the sculpt is a handy nod to CT-411’s role in the game as more of a scout. The kit comes with an option for either a bare head or, uniquely thus far in Shatterpoint, a standard Phase 1 Clone helmet, adding some nice visual variety, something that follows through into the ARF Troopers and their own distinctive helmet style. The two troopers are both armed with blaster rifles; one posed with it raised to the shoulder, aiming to select a target, the other in a much more open stance, striding with arm outstretched, firing his rifle one-handed. The latter also comes with a ruined B1 droid as base-decoration (which I actually left off from my version). What Does This Set Add To The Game? Also, I am not really into legends as I think that Canon is more worthwhile to know in terms of actual star wars geekiness. XD" Underestimating Badassery: Mace severely underestimated the level of skill that would be needed to take down Palpatine, as two of the masters die near instantly, and Kit Fisto dies soon after. While he was enough to match Palpatine, the others were clearly outclassed in every way.
