About this deal

I also thought that with everything that happened, and the detail that we got throughout the book, the ending felt a bit rushed. I would have liked more at the end as not all of the storylines are finished off What did Tim end up deciding to do with his life? What happened with his family? How did Samantha’s situation with her mother work out? And what about crazy stalker Brad? . Samantha is a rich, perfect girl with the perfect life, body and shit. She's got it all but a boyfriend. Her neighbor is single, hot and ridiculously perfect. She's been stalking admiring him from her balcony for evah. HEY, IT'S LIKE MEANT TO BE. The thing is Mom hates the Garrets. They're too many (eight kids) and those morons never heard about birth control so Sam will be in SERIOUS trouble if she fraternizes with the enemy. I dislike sweet, forgiving George. Dude, YOU NEED TO STOP TALKING (This book makes me hate a little kid. This book is evil.)

And to be fair, I thought that Tim sounded like a fairly realistic teenage boy. Though, that probably slightly diminished the swoon factor on his part-just saying. Though, the baby really made the swoonage pretty much non-existant.

George, it's usually better to discuss these kinds of things with your pants on." Jase drops boxer shorts at George's feet, then sets Patsy on the ground next to him. Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To find the liquor cabinet blindfolded, need a liver transplant, and drive his car into a house I'm known for my book boy crushes, but those are usually reserved for the teenagers, so you can imagine my surprise when I fell completely in love with George, the 4 year old walking encyclopedia of the Garrett family. There were times when he stole this story right out from under Jase and Samantha's noses and stole my heart in the process.

What I got: A story full of complications and heartache, subplots I wasn’t expecting, a romance that was barely felt until more than halfway through the book.

Alice on the other hand was desperate for sulky-attention-seeking-loser Tim despite having a million other problems to deal with. Their relationship wasn't interesting or believable, they had no passion or chemistry. Them exchanging I-love-you's after dating for all of five minutes was laughable, it came out of nowhere.

Samantha never met her father, who left the family before she was born. Grace Reed portrays a warm and caring image to her constituents but is cold and strict with her daughters. Both Samantha and her older sister realize that their mother finds it hard to be a parent. Grace tells Samantha that her daughters are the best things that ever personally happened to her, but there is more to life than personal things, and she does not want them to be the only things that ever happen to her.

As much as I love the dynamic and romance between Jase and Samantha, and even though there are plenty of swoony moments between the two, the moment in the book that had me reaching for the tissues was a quiet moment between Samantha and Tim in which he is a loyal and honest friend to her (and Jase) by encouraging her to do the right thing. It’s in this scene that we realize the true depth to Tim, and it was here that I knew I needed to read more about him. Thankfully, Huntley heard the calls and ‘The Boy Most Likely To’ comes out in just over a month.

Surprises abound and sparks ignite in the highly anticipated, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door Oh!! Also - glimpses of Jase *swoon* and Sam and the rest of the Garrets only make this story even more amazing! If you thought you loved George in My Life Next Door, be prepared for even more cute from him and the rest of the gang. After having a bad meeting with Clay, her mother's new campaign manager and boyfriend, Samantha retreats to her balcony where she's spent years watching her neighbors, the Garretts. As a family with eight children, Grace distanced herself and her daughters from them due to her belief that they are chaotic and irresponsible people. For Samantha however, the Garretts provided an escape from her boring, micro-managed life. Although she's spent years watching them, Samantha has never interacted with the Garretts because she doesn't want to disobey her mother. However whilst up there, Samantha meets one of the Garretts who climbs the tendrils to join her. The boy introduces himself as Jase Garrett, the third oldest child, and from this point, they begin growing closer as friends. When Grace walks away, Clay confronts Samantha because he knows she has been listening. He tells her that the Republican Party is interested in Grace because she has looks, style and substance, and that she could easily become a national candidate. But if anyone finds out about the accident, her mother could be arrested.
