About this deal

If you want to invoke genuine fear into even the most courageous of your enemies, it truly doesn’t get more terrifying than the Caliburn by Captain Slug. The pump prime addition to the series is the Hyper Fuel-20, which is the smallest gun of the line so far. We can, and I will complain about that, but it still has one of the highest ammo capacities of any Nerf shotgun. The Hyper Mach-100 is an automatic flywheel blaster with the most ammo capacity of any Hyper Nerf gun.

It feeds rounds very smoothly and utilizes a mechanical agitator to help break up any clumps and keep the rounds flowing, however just like all hopper-fed blasters, you’ll still need to occasionally shake it while firing. However, I would avoid using Elite darts and waffle-head darts. Elite darts have very poor accuracy at high speeds and the tip of the waffle-head darts are slightly too large for the barrel and slow the dart down significantly. Though this gun has a good ammo velocity, the ranges vary from 30-60 feet. Unfortunately, with the way the ammo is designed, many of the shots will curve off or down after 20 feet or so. Similar to our previous blaster—the Nexus Pro—it includes two different 15-round magazines for both full-length and half-length darts, as well as a half-length magazine adapter.

Hyped for Full Auto?

The Rush holds 40 Hyper balls but only comes with 30, which is just a shame. You want to get some extra ammo anyways, as the hyper balls are small and can be hard to find. The Pillager's Crossbow isn't what we expected it to be. If anything, it's better. Even though it looks clunky and imprecise, this is a powerful blaster with enough range to give you a fighting chance in soft-play battle.

As we discussed early in the guide, there are two main factors that influence the power of a Nerf gun: FPS and the type of ammo that you are firing. The Mach-100, in my testing, averaged 108fps, just shy of the advertised 110fps. However, this was on single shots; fully automatic fire bogs down the flywheel motors quite a bit. Rate of fire, meanwhile, averaged between 3 and 4 balls per second, depending on how well the ammo feeds. You get inconsistent spurts of heavy fire, followed by gaps. The Rush-40 is the best Nerf Hyper blaster at its current price. This spring-powered gun holds 40 Nerf Hyper rounds and can shoot them over 110 feet per second. It is a popular new Nerf pistol that has a great overall design and feel.

Featuring Nerf Hyper rounds with an innovative design and material for unparalled performance to maximize capacity and speed At the rear of the blaster, you will find a priming indicator that will show yellow when it’s primed. In the same area, there is an unjamming button that will help you clear the occasional pesky jam. Last but not least, on the left side is a trigger safety to help reduce an accidental shooting. Hyper balls will sting at close range, so while a safety may seem silly, it could protect an eye or two. Performance Interesting features on the Mach include a flip-up sight on top, and a trigger safety on the left side. This blaster also has one short attachment rail on top, and a much longer one on the bottom. Performance

Nerf Elite: Bog-standard Nerf darts. They're compatible with almost everything that isn't an Ultra, Hyper, or Rival blaster. That alone helps the Pro Gelfire Mythic feel like the start of something big, but its other features elevate it even further. Besides being powered by a rechargeable battery that slots into the handle, it comes with a single-shot or semi-auto firing mode, remarkable range, and the ability to spit out 10 rounds per second. Oh, and you won't need to shop for bonus ammunition anytime soon either - there are 10,000 in the box. The performance the all the Hyper guns are very similar, the Evolve seems to shoot a bit harder at up to 120 FPS.Additionally, your ammo needs to be durable. Not only does it need to be able to physically survive high speeds, but it also needs to be stable enough at those speeds. Just like the Perses, this literal minigun shoots eight Rival Rounds per second at an insane 100 FPS! The Hyper series is a relatively new type of blaster that fire Hyper Rounds, which are small balls made of soft rubber—similar to the Nerf Rival Series. But don’t worry, they don’t necessarily hurt, but you’ll definitely feel them more than typically Nerf rounds. O nce again, I’m simply using a picture posted by American Foam; big thanks to him being able to test quite a few things this past week. Up until now, we’ve only looked at spring-powered blasters, however, there are some pretty hard-hitting battery-powered beasts that can unleash a high-velocity gally of darts that few enemies can escape.

With the exception of the Hyper Mach-100, I feel the prices are all pretty fair for what you get. These guns have a lot of power and pave the way for some solid higher-capacity Nerf guns. The power output of a spring-loaded Nerf blaster is determined by the strength of the spring. Most Nerf-brand blasters use rather weak springs which you upgrade yourself to increase power. However, some blasters—such as our top choice for the most powerful blaster, the Caliburn—are prebuilt using insanely resistant springs. They're based in convenient locations including supermarkets, newsagents and train stations. Plus they're often open late and on Sundays. Hyper ammo is very bouncy and that is another reason to wear eye protection while using these blasters. The blaster runs off 8 AA batteries and includes a functioning red dot optic, a very nice comfortable rubber grip on the handle, and 12 full-length and 12 half-length darts. The standout feature is, of course, the large hopper on top that can hold a bit over 100 rounds. 80 Hyper balls are included with the blaster, which is a lot, but not enough to completely fill it up. You may have wondered, “What is so special about being the smallest? The Hyper Fuel is a bit smaller than the Rush, but it slings with the same power at 110+ feet per second.
