Aside from the story and RPG elements, the simple golfing in Golf Story is excellent, too. Its wonderful 2D pixelated graphics make this feel like a SNES classic, and its simple golfing mechanics are easy to get to grips with. Sending your ball flying up the fairway has never been so satisfying. It might be far from your traditional golf game, but it’s still one of the best on Nintendo Switch by far. Visually, this game is intriguing. The apocalyptic game levels are well made, and there’s plenty of interesting decorations scattered around to add extra realism. It’s worth noting that these signs and decorations do contain some obscene language, so bear this in mind if you’re grabbing a game for a younger person in your life. Although Ubisoft’s Sports Party game includes a range of sports other than golf, it’s still one of the best golf games on Switch right now. It offers up perhaps the most realistic golfing experience on the console, even if it is a bit limited.

Grab your clubs (string of sausages, frozen rubber glove, it doesn’t matter which) and tee off into a hilarious anarchic world. While playing a golf multiplayer game, you typically might expect to wait for other players to hit their golf ball before it’s your turn. It’s a simple rule of golf , and Party Golf flips this upside down perfectly. There are other issues too, mostly of a technical kind. The course designer present in other versions of the game is here and fully featured, which is massively welcome, but the whole thing slows to such a crawl that it’s an exercise in patience: while we appreciate HB Studios’ efforts in making sure the Switch version isn’t missing any features, this one is maybe a bit too much for the Switch to handle. One of my favorite things about this title is the party mode, which allows you to split the screen down the middle and play a game with a friend. It’s unfortunate that it only stretches to two players, but the format works well and it makes for an enjoyable experience.Additional games, systems and/or accessories may be required for multiplayer mode. Out of all the multiplayer golf games for the Nintendo Switch, Party Golf is one of the best. It’s a fantastic buy if you’re looking to keep a group of friends entertained with a silly yet well made sports game, and also offers plenty of fun for solo players, too. Now, Golf Club Wasteland isn’t exactly a traditional golfing game. It does, however, require you to consider the trajectory of your ball, hit with the appropriate amount of power, and try to get in the hole as efficiently as possible. But rather than playing on a green, you’re instead playing on an apocalyptic wasteland. This is Earth, in the future, when all it is good for is a rich man’s crazy golf course. Hit the green with up to four players locally* or online** and golf with friends from the Super Mario™ series like Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and more! Modes range from Standard Golf to the energetic Speed Golf and an exciting Golf Adventure. Simple motion or button controls make it easy for both new players and seasoned pros to drive and putt. Tee off at the same time with up to three other players* and race through the course to get your ball in first. Mayhem is par for the course as you hinder your opponents with dashes and Special Shots. Yoshi can dash atop a giant egg and King Bob-omb can pelt the green with explosions! In Battle Golf, watch out for obstacles like Thwomps, Chain Chomps, and banana peels as you navigate the neon-themed Super Golf Stadium. There are difficulty settings so you can adjust the game to suit you (we won’t judge if you prefer an easy win), and, like any golf game on Switch should have, Neo Turf Masters has multiplayer options. You can either battle it out with players around the world for a high score, or get a friend to join you locally for a two-played battle. It might not look quite as realistic as some of its more modern counterparts, but Neo Turf Masters has a whole lot of charm all the same. 8.
