About this deal

Todd's writing was initially inspired by the music and fandom of One Direction, and the singer Harry Styles is a model for the protagonist in her After series, under the name Hardin Scott. [3] She started by writing stories on her phone with the Wattpad app in 2013, publishing a chapter almost daily for over a year. Todd wrote three books in the After series on Wattpad. [1] Okay, this book...I don't even really know what to say. This is the first book I've read by Anna Todd, and while I enjoyed it in audio, I honestly think that was because the narration was so well done. The book was okay...but there's just really nothing happening. Todd briefly shared a mailbox with Austin film critic Korey Coleman. Years later, he would review the film adaptation of her novel After, though he gave it a negative review. [14] Bibliography [ edit ] Single novels [ edit ] And Dakota—my freaking goodness, please don't even get me started with this girl. I was so close to blowing my lid off every time she was in the picture. Or maybe I already have. She infuriated the living daylights out of me. While Nora wasn't perfect either, at the very least, she didn't make me want to strangle her every single time she appeared.

There were a lot of moves, and it was no picnic for Anna to push through her husband’s three deployments to Iraq. But they survived, even though Anna Todd will be the first person to admit that the journey to her current situation has been an insane and chaotic one. Tessa and Hardin were certain they could make things work, but that was before a revelation shook Tessa’s world. Now she isn’t so certain that she knows Hardin.

Alter, Alexandra (October 21, 2014). "Harry Styles of One Direction Stars in Anna Todd's Novel". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331 . Retrieved April 26, 2017. Because she grew up in a small town, Anna had little else to occupy her time besides books. Her love for reading manifested at a very young age. And while she cannot remember how she began reading and which books appealed to her during those early years, Anna Todd definitely remembers the thrill that books gave her. I haven’t worked here long enough to be included in the ‘we,’?” she teases, and grabs a hair band off of her wrist and lifts her curly reddish-brown hair into the air behind her. It’s a lot of hair, and she ties it up neatly, then nods her signal that she’s ready to work. Then, taking a glance at me, she inches away, just a bit, and says more neutrally to him, “I didn’t know you worked here.” I'm not a fan of love triangles and this book perfectly represents why. It didn't help that I despised the characters involved. Dakota is such an awful person. She's so controlling and mean. I didn't care about the characters at all because they were all so annoying. And yet, I still didn't hate them as much as the characters in After.

My hope is that ‘Nothing Less’ will be nothing less than amazing. Todd’s readers deserve it after being left adrift. No cliffhanger, just done for now…..However hope springs eternal as I know, having read all the ‘After’ series, that Landon is not burdened with Nora’s enigmatic brokenness, but finds true love with a kindred spirit that he can care for and in return he is made whole as well. Landon has had one girlfriend and she broke his heart when they went their separate ways for college. You never really forget your first everything and Landon still wonders what life could have been like if he and Dakota were still together. Now that she is in New York too he may get a chance to find out? This book is for the tortured readers. The ones that crave love triangles, angst filled drama and tortuous dialogue. I would say Landon is the typical young male. The book is 100% from his POV and I will admit at times it seems like his POV sounds more on the feminine side, but I think that’s just the author getting her feet wet in writing from a male POV. It wasn’t distracting, it’s just that I am use to alpha male characters. Landon isn’t that. But his flaws are endearing. In 2015, Todd announced that she would be publishing Before, a prequel novel that tells the events of After from the perspective of Hardin Scott. [4] Her next book, The Spring Girls, a re-telling of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, [6] was published in 2018. Dakota?” Aiden’s voice overpowers mine as I start to ask them if they want me to add whipped cream, something I do to my own drinks. I believe as the series progresses it will be about Landon trying to break free from Dakota’s finger and truly manning up.
