The one thing we need to remember is that these are just some of the products that you can find online. It’s up to you to decide which one will work for your needs. By the way, the aforementioned rubber eyecups are removable, so people with glasses will be able to just as easily utilise this model as the ones without spectacles. In addition to the binoculars themselves, you'll get a cleaning cloth, a carrying case, and the usual protective lens covers.

Designed with rubber armor and anti-slip gripping surface, you can use them for hours without you having to worry about them falling off your hands. Versatile and Bright, these Binos Will Have You Reaching for the StarsOffering an 8x magnification to bring faraway points of interest that much closer plus a 40mm objective lens diameter, the Olympus 8×40 DPS I Binoculars incorporate fully coated lenses to deliver maximum image brightness, visual impact and image defining contrast. It’s important to protect your eyes, but it’s easy to forget during long sessions out in nature with your binoculars. pregulla is right though, the BK7 darkening is not much really, and besides, even if you got a pair of bak4, you're still not going to be concentrating on the edge of field anyway, it'll still have coma/ field curvature Maximum comfort, functionality and portability are guaranteed due to a compact, lightweight size and ergonomic controls. The focus wheel is responsive and easy to operate even if wearing gloves.I was having a look at your binocular list and I noticed some serious wide angle models which are very interesting. I wear glasses, and I know from the Olympus which has 12mm eye relief that it's about the minimum which works for me: so that would rule out the Vixen 2.1x42, and I was wondering how you find the Vision king 5x25 and the Kasai4x22: is the fov totally enormous compared to 8° and do you get a really strong 3D effect? Aspherical optics are used to reduce distortion in the lens to give you a clearer, more accurate picture.

Does the Pentax SP have better fov edge sharpness than the Olympus, and what sort of field of view do you get? Features: 8x Magnification – 60 Degree Vision – UV Protection – Aspherical Optics – Durable – Rubber Grip – Centre Focus Wheel – Dioptric Correction. Stunning zoom capabilities – You will find that this product offers zooming capabilities which not many binoculars offer these days. This gives you even more stuff to do with these binoculars thanks to the fact you can zoom anywhere from 8x to 16x. Perhaps one could classify these binos as a cheap and cheerful beginner type which has a good bright sweet spot in the center of the lens, but would not suit a more experienced user. Saying that my Celestron 12x60 aren't exactly brilliant either and show very similar failings. These binoculars are designed with sharp molding and lines, resulting in a compact and lightweight form. The large center focus knob is easy to find and use, and the extra wide eye relief ensures your eyes will remain comfortable throughout your viewing session.

Are all the binos listed by you Bak4 type , and would you therefore automatically exclude the cheaper Bk7's? Porro Prism – The porro prism technology implemented into these binoculars will guarantee you crisp viewing no matter what you are observing. FWIW, my experience with Bk7 vs. BaK4 in both standard field and wide angle 7x35 porro prism binoculars is more significant. BaK4 always provides a brighter image across the entire field. While I have noticed it for quite some time, it tends to be difficult to quantify when you are comparing different binoculars from different brands. More recently I have used otherwise identical binoculars of the same brand, and the BaK4 models still always present brighter images than the Bk7 models. The difference is not huge by any means, but it is nevertheless easy to notice. The lens coatings appear reasonably good and refect little light, so I went ahead and tested the 40mm apertures with a paper strip over the objectives: looking through the eyepieces I could see light at the edges at 38mm.

Popular Fittings

Fast and easy focusing is provided courtesy of a large, centrally placed knob. The 8×40 DPS I model further sports a 12mm eye relief for extra comfort, plus diopter adjustment for comfortable viewing without glasses. The Olympus DPSI binoculars( learn more here!) come with 8x magnification. This means they make your subjects appear 8 times closer than they would be with the naked eye. No problem : )yeah I guess that's where you have to weigh up price vs performance, is it worth double the cost? For some, yes, for others, not really
