Description

Not linear at all, the scent passes from an initial creamy stage to a warmer and more spicy central one and finally to amber and salty trail. Powerful, seductive, and passionately masculine, this connoisseur blend expresses the sensual personality of the wearer of the Oud Malaki. It’s mild in projection and not the longest-lasting oud-based fragrance I know of. Recommended in the evening or for a casual night out in the colder strong fall and winter months, I find it a great candidate for the office when applied sparingly. If you are an oriental perfume fanatic who loves oud and tobacco or wants to try an oud-based fragrance and don’t want to be too offensive, try this. It is a very underrated and overlooked fragrance, in my opinion.

Slightly salty ambergris emerges in the drying, mixed with cedarwood with its characteristic pencil sharpener feel and clean, non-medicinal, or animal oud. Tobacco, spices, and leather give the oud a slightly dusty profile than the infamous skunky smell that upsets many people. What a beautiful deep and sensual trail it becomes, which is more about ambergris as it is quite present, the spiciness is still there at the end and the leather is almost out of reach, just a slight puff, it is more amber than woody at the end. Lavender, grapefruit and mugwort make up the head of this particular parfum. Next heart notes of leather, tobacco and spices fill the air. The experience ends with a base of woodsy notes and ambergris. Chopard Fragrances: Pricing The scent is a spicy woody oud-based, which immediately gives me an explosion of citrus and creamy accord. Clean, almost soapy lavender blends beautifully with sweet and sour grapefruit. The result is milky, with a pleasant barber touch. Mugwort soon takes over, and a sort of herbal and mentholated flavor blends with the persistent creaminess. That initial goodness lasts a few minutes.Tobacco and oud notes are common in perfumery. But how they are blended here is exceptionally unique. This is one of my favorite parts of the fragrance as it stands out from your typical oud scent. If you are familiar with notes, you’ll understand why this bold mixture can be decisive. It may seem like an aggressive opening, but all notes are smooth and well-rounded. Hence, the quality of the craftsmanship.

In 1992, Chopard partnered with L'Oreal to release fine fragrances under the esteemed Chopard brand. The company's first fragrance, sweet and popular women's fragrance Casmir, debuted in 1992 to great success, and spawned a series of flankers. The first men's scent, Heaven, was introduced in 1994. The company offers many of its fragrances in flacons that resemble a gemstone (Wish, for example, from 1999) and has introduced fragrances that coincide with a watch or jewelry collection, such as the Happy Spirit fragrances, which have a corresponding timepiece collection.

Chopard Oud Malaki was released in 2012 and perfumed by Dominique Ropion. It is one of a kind for the brand, as there are no flankers. Final Words Chopard experienced tremendous growth under the Scheufele family, who modernized the company and expanded its expertise into fine jewelry. The famed "Happy Diamonds" collection, whose watches featued free-moving diamonds housed between sapphire crystals, and the first Sport watches on leather straps, were all introduced under Scheufele's direction. Chopard Oud Malaki is an underrated gem. It is sure to be a signature scent. I particularly enjoy Oud Malakai because parts of the day, you’ll catch wafts of distinct grapefruit, and for other parts of the day, oud and tobacco. Oud Malaki is not a mass-appealing scent. It is quite decisive because of its unique note combination. This is best for a person who has some experience with colognes.

In the fall and winter, this is a fantastic fragrance to wear. It wouldn’t have made my “ Best Winter Colognes” list if it wasn’t. In the warmer times of the year – spring and summer. It is too much. The general idea for the first 5-10 minutes is a spicy, woody aroma. Then the leather is added. It always keeps the scent in balance but adds depth. A bracing and bitter top note of Grapefruit and Artemisia (mugwort) is short lived, but M.Ropion gets into the Oud nitty gritty of this fragrance almost right off the bat. It is surrounded by a beautiful pipe tobacco sweetness, banishing any medicinal quality it may have and reminding me somewhat of Amouage's Opus V for a few short minutes before a relatively raw leather note creates an animalistic purr similar to Opus V's soft civet note. It's extremely agreeable, soft and completely encased by an incredible sweet tobacco ... like a pipe filled with Cherry Tobacco waiting to be lit. Does a high price tag indicate quality? Not always. Chopard Oud Malaki proves otherwise. It originally made its debut in in 2012. Dominique Ropion is the parfumeur behind this soul-stirring creation. Fragrances are classified according to the concentration of aetheroleum they contain. Eau de parfums, such as this one, ordinarily have between 15-20%. This lasts all day long with just a few dabs. Because of this, they also tend to be the most costly to acquire. A Symphony for the Nose

Longevity:

The tobacco and woody notes are very strong at first and are soon joined by spices and subtle yet prevalent oud.
