About this deal

Wow, with this book, Jewel E. Ann proves once again why she is the queen of angst. I started and finished in one go, and my puffy baggy eyes make me look like I am having some kind of allergic shellfish reaction. Totally worth it though!! Out of Love took me on an emotional roller coaster. Jewel E. Ann always delivers the twists and all the feels. Her writing and storytelling is exceptional. The characters have a strong well developed arc and how it all comes together in the end is executed to perfection. Hazel is a beautifully brazen, headstrong writer who portrays realities with a wonderful wink and wry smile in everything she does”— Grace Helbig, comedian and author I don't even know what else to tell you about this book aside from the fact that I couldn't put it down. The angst, the secrets, the suspense. All of it masterfully crafted and interwoven between one unforgettable romance that should have never happened but did. I'm desperately hoping that we'll be getting more books set in this world because there's one thing that is left hanging that I need a resolution for. Not even need. DESPERATE for.

I don't even know what else to tell you about this book aside from t It's pretty awesome to have a documentation of the breakup of a relevant relationship in your life, physical and in your hands, it's just also kind-of morbid or something, I couldn't keep that thought out of my head through every single chapter. How this happened five years ago (I've watched the author on YouTube that long! longer actually!) and how she must have been reliving it every day ever since, prompting this book and the idea. It was a great story and I couldn't put it down! I still have a couple of questions aftee that end... But I guess that those questions where purposely left unanswered...It's a classical case of sunshine girl and grumpy guy, but at the same time, it's full of mystery, emotions, assassins, twists and turns.

I love Slade's mysterious character. I was actually trying to guess his occupation from the very start. Thought I was smart enough to have guessed it right. I was wrong. That moment is what I love most about creating something new: the idea, the spark, the beginning, where what might have been was still what might be.”

I had this feeling … a terrible unexplainable feeling that he wasn’t simply going to break my heart, he was going to shatter it beyond repair. And I would live my life as a jaded lover who would never trust another man again. In this one, The Hero is Tall, Dark and one hundred percent Asshole. The heroine is Sassy, mouthy, intelligent and a collector of moments. Now I won't be going into the actual plotline and I won't be revealing anything really, so you will all just have to make do with me gushing my feelings about this book. This one should definitely be read blind... The time has arrived for Livy Knight to move away to college and leave her overprotective dad behind. Whilst yes, Livy is excited and embracing life with clear goals, she’s also living like a free spirit in the waves, unconsciously looking for a man who’s just like her dad. With that, comes, danger, betrayal, violence and heartbreak. Does anything really phase her though? She may be feisty, slightly manic in behaviour and a complete free spirit, yet her heart is big and vulnerable, and in many respects, she reminded us of her aunt Jessica! So, when she meets the mysterious and menacing-looking Slade Wylder, she cannot stay away. She’s mesmerised, perhaps even a tad obsessed. She knows he harbours deep dark secrets, his disappearances haunts her, his whole persona is stand-off-ish. But she cannot look away, stay away or even ignore the depth of her connection with him. Is she scared of him -yes and no- is he an arsehole, a resounding yes, but the heart wants what it wants and we cannot blame Liv for that, ours wanted him too.The language was very similar to my writing style, which I appreciated. Easy to read, very fast-forward, easy to understand, and at the same time, it was beautiful. There were some curse words in there so be ready for that. Overall, great language. I would have appreciated a liiiitle more poetry in there, but I'm satisfied. In the About the Author section, it says Hazel Hayes made the switch from horror to romance because there is “nothing more horrific than love.” That perfectly encapsulates this emotional novel. Wylder…I have a feeling you’re not going to like this…but I’m not going to be able to stop myself from doing it anyway.” I love that I can always count on some good laughs with every JEA book...Right before she breaks my heart. Yup! This premise is SO GOOD. Honestly, I really love sort of outside of the box formats in books and seeing a relationship develop from the end towards the beginning of their relationship is so interesting to me. Out of Love might not be for everyone. Some might be annoyed with knowing how the relationship will end and having to go through the whole relationship. But to me, this was a really interesting exploration of love, life, and trauma. You slowly get the full picture of all characters and which things made them into the people they are at the beginning of the book. This book was really special to me and made me tear up multiple times (at parts that were not even particularly sad but just resonated with me). I am having a hard time giving this a rating because the story itself was not that new or exciting. The way the story was phrased and the feelings I had during this book make me lean towards a five-star rating. Also, the Irish culture included in this book was so much fun and when reading I often did hear it in my head in an Irish accent (thanks to Hazel's videos probably).
