The nearest Metro station is Abbesses, from where it’s an uphill walk, or from Anvers there’s a funicular railway to Sacré-Cœur from the bottom of Montmartre hill. Sacré-Cœur gargoyles The Arc de Triomphe From the towers of the basilica itself, the le Parvis of Sacré Coeur to Notre Dame Cathedral, Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, and the business district of Paris, you can see absolutely everything from here and that’s why it makes it to the list of the best views of Paris. Opening hours:The terrace is open to the public for free all year round from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM with exceptions on Sundays when it opens at 11:00 AM. 17. From A Hot Air Balloon ride at Parc Andre Citroen Top 10 panoramic views of Paris: it is always exciting to discover a city from above… and Paris makes no exception with its world-famous monuments and landmarks. Here is a list of our 10 favourite panoramic views of Paris. This will lead to recommendations for countries to set more ambitious plans in the next round. What have we achieved so far? Pro tip* There are so many Seine cruises which makes choosing the best one hard. So as someone who has taken a number of them, I recommend going for this seine cruise if you want it with a dinner, but if you prefer a lunch cruise, this is what I recommend and if you just want to focus on the cruise without being disrupted with eating, then I recommend going with this seine cruise. Most people usually ignore the Panthéon but it’s one of the best viewpoints in Paris — no wonder it’s referred to as the dome of Paris since it gives 360-degree views over the city. It is also famously called Tour Montparnasse, which was the tallest skyscraper in Paris until late of 2011. It was constructed in 1969 to 1973 with 210 meters high and it’s still names as 19th tallest building in European Union in 2019.

From here, you’ll get a 360-degree view of Paris but some of the landmarks that stand out include; the Opera, Madeleine church, La Defense, Sacre Coeur, and the iron lady herself! Although only 83 metres high, the dome of Sacré-Cœur Basilica is actually Paris’ second-highest point thanks to its position right on the top of Montmartre hill. The basilica was built between 1876 and 1912 to honour the victims of the Franco–Prussian War.

Let’s start with one of the best rooftop views of the city (and my personal favorite), the view from the Panthéon, in the 5th Arrondissement. 1. The Panthéon There’s no way you can miss the Pompidou Centre in Paris fourth district. The modern art museum was designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, for an architectural design competition. The two architects wanted functional structural elements, such as electrical wires and pipes, to be part of the aesthetic of the building. This is the reason why the Pompidou Centre has such a unique and recognizable look! The Eiffel Tower is of course one of the most famous places in Paris to enjoy the view: climb (7 euro) or take the elevator (11 euro) to the second story viewing platform, where you’ll get four unique panoramas: central Paris to the east, the Chaillot Palace and La Défense to the north, the Champ de Mars to the south, and the Ile des Cygnes or Swan Island to the west, which is home to a miniature replica of the Statue of Liberty. Pro tip* Due to the devastating fire that burnt part of the Notre Dame Cathedral, it is currently closed off to the public to undergo renovation. Khayma Rooftop Bar: We all know that a view in Paris doesn’t come cheap, but what if you can have it for cheap? Yeah, Khayma Rooftop bar on Generator Paris, a popular hostel is the perfect place to go for stunning views of Paris while paying less (be it for drinks or a room if you choose to stay overnight). The bar offers indubitably the most incredible views of Sacré Coeur and the entire Montmartre hill.

You need to climb 300 narrow spiralling stairs to get up there (so it’s not ideal if you’re claustrophobic), with a gallery at top so you can walk around the dome. The gallery is at a height of 213 metres, and on a clear day you can see for over 30 miles, as well as getting a great close-up view of the basilica’s bell towers and its stone gargoyles. View from Sacré-Cœur Basilica’s dome The detailsAt 69 metres high, the South Tower of Notre-Dame offers a magnificent view over West Paris (from the Eiffel Tower to La Défense and Sacré Cœur).
