When showering, it is important to avoid directly washing the area with soap. The perfumes and additives in body soap can irritate the area and impede the healing process. Keep your genital piercing clean by spraying with Sterilear Step 1: Clean no more than 1 – 2 times a day for the first two weeks after piercing. Leave jewelry in at all times. Even healed piercings that you have had for years can shrink or close in minutes! If removed, reinsertion can be difficult or impossible. When To Use

Next, you want to prepare your cleaning solution. This can be a store-bought saline solution, or you would prefer, you can make your own. Your homemade concoction should be 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodine salt to 8 ounces of water. Never use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. These are too strong and will irritate your piercing.
