Video quality is a step up from previous Pixels, but is still not nearly as good as Google’s still photography, and lags behind Apple and Samsung. Thanks to new Tensor-powered algorithms that has come to the Pixel 6 series. Anecdotally, I don’t think the Pixel 6 Pro’s battery life is that bad. I took the phone out to the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. for a full day of photography and navigating public transit, then spent the evening getting product photos and playing some Xbox Game Pass at 100% brightness. I ended the day in the 35% battery range, which isn’t awful considering how hard I pushed the phone. In the time since, I've regularly finished the day with more than enough life left to keep the battery anxiety away.

The Pixel 6 Pro is... without a doubt...the worst phone I've ever had. I've had this phone for nearly a year. It's my first, and last time I will ever consider a Google phone. I wish I could give it zero stars.
At such a reasonable price and with such a tempting array of features, Google has a winner on its hands. Aside from the “love it or hate it” design, the only real fly in the ointment is the Pixel 6’s battery life, which comes in well under its competitors. But it’s hardly a deal-breaker at just under 20 hours. How about that Magic Eraser tool? In a word, it’s magic. If a stranger, overhead cable or lamppost is photobombing what would otherwise be an Insta-worthy picture, all you’ve got to do is edit the image, select Magic Eraser in the Tools section and draw an outline with your finger around what you want removed. The Pixel 6 then takes care of the rest in a couple of seconds. Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Google Pixel 6 256 GB 8 GB is 20:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online.. The camera app crashes all the time, causes the phone to random reboot when you open it or change modes. Forget 3rd party apps the Google apps do not even work on this phone. This includes Photos, Gmail, Drive,Chrome, Maps - the app flashes open then closed again, eventually the phone will do a random reboot again. Chrome wouldn't work at all even after a reboot, the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset (clear cache etc didn't work). It isn’t just the hardware that’s seen a significant overhaul. The Pixel 6 also comes with Android 12, which brings with it a radically updated look and feel, courtesy of Google’s new “Material You” design language.Perhaps the most intriguing upgrade to this year’s Google phones is the least visible. Inside the Pixel 6 resides the first Google-produced processor: the Google Tensor. This is an octa-core part that looks similar in makeup to the Snapdragon 888. Built on a 5nm manufacturing process, it has a pair of 2.8GHz ARM-X1 cores for running high-performance jobs, two “medium” 2.25GHz ARM A76 cores and four low-power ARM A55 efficiency cores running at 1.8GHz. The Pixel 6 Pro debuts with Android 12, which arrived for other supported Pixels on October 19. Although you get the same OS-level features on any Pixel from the Pixel 3/3 XL and above, the Pixel 6 Pro is where Android 12 shines, especially with the new Material You design language and theming system. Call quality and 5G reception was good, as was Bluetooth performance to several sets of headphones.
On the other hand, battery life isn’t the Pixel 6’s strong suit. Lasting just a bit longer than the Pixel 6 Pro, the regular model topped out at just 18hrs 34mins in our video-rundown test, which represents a stamina decrease of 19% compared to 2020’s Pixel 5 (22hrs 54mins). You’ll be charging the phone more often, which is a shame. Actual battery life may be lower.From local speech and object recognition to camera processing and photo editing, all of Google’s more advanced systems certainly run faster on the 6 Pro than on the previous Pixel 5. But comparing like for like with rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and OnePlus 9 Pro proved difficult. Heading indoors to this produce stand, the Pixel’s shot is brighter and compensates better for the harsh lighting above. The iPhone warmed things up a bit too much in response to the cool lighting, and the image is overall dimmer than the Pixel’s. I think Google’s phone wins here. The charging time is so aggravating. Supposedly the battery life is being prolonged by the slow charge. My last phone an S10+ charged faster than this thing after 5 years of use, and held that charge longer.

A swipe from the bottom up, then right, is supposed to being the array of apps up for closure or close all. It RARELY WORKS. Instead, it swipes up, and sets the apps where they can't be enlarged or closed. Since the Pixel 6 Pro's release, Google has put out a few Feature Drops. Though not limited to the Pixel 6 series, the latest Feature Drop landed in June with little useful things like easily adding your vaccination card to your phone. Pixel Feature Drop Update The Pixel 6 Pro phone is a worthless device - I own TWO. I've got over 30 years of dev experience also and I wouldn't buy this phone for a dead squirrel! The apps work (V12, Android, most recent release as-of 4/17/2022) but the phone, used as a phone, has VERY serious issues. Pictures are great! Text messaging... well you can lose your ENTIRE active text message that you're working on and you MUST restart. Zilch saved as temporary and NO way to recover. It's lost and never to be seen again. The fingerprint scanner is good but not quite as rapid as those on the Galaxy S21 Ultra or OnePlus 9 Pro. Even though it doesn't score better than some other high-end chipsets, It's a powerful chip that certainly delivers plenty of real-life speed and comfort.
