About this deal

You will receive support, technique guidance/correction and motivation from a qualified Nordic Walking and First Aid Trained Instructor. We do warm-up exercises before the session and cool-down stretches after our Nordic Walk. But who is the Eve behind Eve of Equality? Well... not who you might think. Meet Everett Kane, aspiring writer and fervent feminist. He writes his erudite blog in his apartment, at his kitchen table, conveniently but unexpectedly located right above one of the aforementioned XY strip clubs.

I really wanted to like this book, the synopsis was so intriguing and sounded like something right up my alley. I am a male who has written for feminists blogs. I grew up right as Jezebel and similar blogs were starting and took off. It sounded like a perfect read to look at some important, contemporary discussions and do so in a funny way. Further, I actually quite like Terry Fallis.. In Poles Apart, an expert on polarisation, a behavioural scientist and a professional communicator explain why we are so prone to be drawn into rival, often deeply antagonistic factions. They explore the shaping force of our genetic make-up on our fundamental views and the nature of the influences that family, friends and peers exert. They pinpoint the economic and political triggers that tip people from healthy disagreement to dangerous hostility, and the part played by social media in spreading entrenched opinions. And they help us to understand why outlooks that can seem so bizarre and extreme to us seem so eminently sensible to those who hold them. This session is for trained Nordic Walkers who wish to get out and practice/develop their Nordic Walking Technique and improve their fitness levels, whilst working at a pace appropriate for them.Above all, they show what practical and effective steps we can all take to narrow divisions, build respect for others, and create a greater degree of common understanding. I don't think the countries are explored or explained very well, but it might give you a jumping off point for young readers. I mean, if they can learn to visually identify the Sydney Opera House (and they don't live in Australia), I think that's a win. Perhaps the book will give them ideas about traveling, which is good. Appropriate Footwear – You are advised to wear comfortable footwear that has good grip/tread, suitable for varying terrain such as wet grass, gravel, mud e.g. - trainers. Ideally, for your comfort, flexible soled shoes that are breathable and waterproof are recommended, such as waterproof trainers or flexible walking shoes. It can get very muddy in the park after heavy rain fall.

We do warm-up exercises before the session and cool-down stretches after our Nordic Walk. The warm-ups and cool-downs are slightly different and slower paced than other sessions, to allow participants more time to transition between each exercise/stretch.

This became the question behind the Changed my Mind podcast, with Ali’s former colleagues Laura Osborne and Alexandra (Alex) Chesterfield coming onboard. Dubbed by Rory Sutherland, founder of Ogilvy’s Behavioural Science Practice, ‘ the best question he has ever heard’, it has been gaining plaudits and listeners from its inception. Guests to date have included Peter Gabriel, Professor Tali Shalot and Jonathan Haidt. Distributed with openDemocracy, a second series is set to appear this summer.

Our Nordic Walking Group has evolved to become its own little community consisting of friendly, welcoming and supportive people who enjoy a chat whilst they exercise. You can participate with the social element as much, or as little, as you wish. A fascinating and thought-provoking analysis of the divisions between us, how we bridge them, how we reshape the world - and ourselves too. Essential reading.' Cathy Newman, presenter of Channel 4 News and author OH! And, I forgot the best part (and by best, I mean catastrophically bad). That bow tying up where Everett gets the girl? Well, he has to stalk her by donning a costume to pressure a receptionist (including by giving her flowers) into disclosing where his love interest now works. Then he stalks her over there, literally hoping for a rom-com ending... AND GETS IT. He interrupts her from seeing her clients, and Megan admits that she really knew deep down inside that Everett was a good guy. Low and behold, they start dating almost immediately and live happily ever after. Did a woman ever read this manuscript before approval??In Australia we get: g'day, faster, fun, and bonzer. We get jet-skiing. We get the Sydney Opera House. We get ... ... Wait, that's it. Cold weather – As well as layers of warm clothing, bring 'thin' gloves (not ski type gloves as you wear wrist straps) and a hat if the weather is cold. You will warm-up due to the cardiovascular nature of the class, but we are in Great Britain and on some days the 'fresh' breezes can keep the temperature down. You will be moving your arms and legs throughout the session so loose-fitting clothes are recommended for your comfort. These sessions also sometimes incorporate exercises designed to improve balance, strength, mobility and general fitness.
