About this deal

Meanwhile, Mrs Digby is trapped in a large aircraft hangar with all of the Redforts' personal belongings. She hears men going through all the items, but they do not find what they are looking for.

The secret codes used in the book were developed by Child and mathematician Marcus du Sautoy. The main codes in all five books are based around senses. The first book: sight, the second book: hearing, the third book: smell, the fourth being touch and the fifth being taste. Child was the cover artist for all three volumes and the author of at least the first volume's introduction.Child grew up in Wiltshire as the middle child of three sisters and the daughter of two teachers. She has always been interested in the many aspects of childhood, from gazing into toy shop windows to watching American children's shows from the 1960s. After attending two Art Schools, she travelled for six months, still unsure about which career to embark upon. Lauren Margot Peachy Child CBE (born Helen Child; 29 November 1965 [1]) is an English children's author and illustrator. She is best known for the Charlie and Lola picture book series and other book series. Her influences include E. H. Shepard, Quentin Blake, Carl Larsson, and Ludwig Bemelmans. [2] I started reading and I was instantly hooked. It was amazing. It had many unpredictable moments, twists and turns witch I liked very much, cool kind of font through out the book, a great story line and Ruby wore some really funny slogan shirts witch made me laugh. It took me about 9 days to finish, considering it was a big book with small font I was impressed. I used to be a big fan of Charlie and Lola when I was little, then as I got older I’d started to read Clarice Bean. In the Clarice Bean books, Clarice is a big fan of a secret spy agent 'Ruby Redfort' I had always wondered about this young spy, and the adventures she had. Clarice thought she was brilliant. Now I have to agree with her!

Clarice Bean, Don't Look Now! - novel - Clarice has a worry list and is wondering what her worst worry is. BBC Radio 4 programme, where achievers re-visit their schools: Top of the Class: Lauren Child, 11 August 2008.

BookBliss

This book is fine for girls and boys aged 10-14, and could probably be read to a slightly younger child. I give it a rating of 4/5 – a point deducted for the occasional slow pace. Overall though, this is a fantastic book! I used to read other books by Lauren Child when I was little, such as Clarice Bean and Charlie and Lola, so it’s nice that she’s finally written a book for my current age group.
