Likewise, the Galaxy S10e uses a vapour chamber cooling system to help increase the phone’s efficiency when running processor-heavy applications. This is good because the phone’s internal 3,300mAh capacity battery is frankly rather small. Nonetheless, the Galaxy S10e was still capable of reaching a lengthy 17hrs 50mins on a single charge. The front camera with a single sensor of 10 MPx allows you to take good quality selfies also. The S10+ version obviously performs much better with a dual sensor for the selfie camera and a flash (white screen). Samsung is rolling out its new OneUI 2.0 interface built on Android 10 to phones like the Galaxy S10e. Samsung Galaxy S10e: Bottom line Get ready to rule social media thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S10e’s Ultra HD front selfie lens, with auto focus. I've only ever used a Samsung smart phone, starting with the G4, so I cannot tell you how it compares to an iphone, as people tend to stay with things that are familiar to them... like brands of cars or other technical devices. The selling feature to me was: I was familiar with the general operation, it was the same size as my previous model.... which I became accustomed to using... and has a huge storage capacity, even on the standard 128gb model..and the speed in which it connects to the internet or retrieves for internal storage, is VERY fast. And Charging is so easy... just set it on the charging disc .... and it even tells you how much longer it will take to charge to 100%.

What the whole S10 line has in common, however, is the punch-hole in the top-right corner of the screen, the source of the Samsung-termed ‘Infinity-O’ display. It’s noticeable, like the notches before it, though far less an eyesore than the wider camera tabs found in the likes of the iPhone XS and XS Max.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is still one of the best affordable flagships

The S10e especially shines when gaming. Playing PUBG Mobile at fully maxed settings was no sweat for the phone, as the framerate never dipped noticeably throughout my session. And arcade racer Asphalt 9 Legends — one of the most demanding titles on mobile today with its extensive lighting effects, motion blur and meticulously modeled cars — ran smoother on Samsung's device than on any other smartphone I've used yet. The 5.8-inch AMOLED display lives up to the Galaxy S name, with bright colors and crisp detail. If you don’t quite like the color balance, you can tinker with an easy fix called Vivid Mode, which does what it says on the box and lets you further tweak it to be a warmer (more red) or cooler (more blue) picture. If even that isn’t enough, you can tinker with the RGB levels individually. I was able to have a slightly larger keyboard size on the Note 10 plus 5G vs S10e. Makes for less typos/corrections on the larger keyboard. Usability quirks aside, Bright Night doesn't quite rise to the level of Google's Night Sight. Putting aside some of the compositional differences between these photos, the Night Sight result is better all around, with more definition in the shadows, stronger color throughout and properly exposed highlights, especially pertaining to the ice patch on the road. As previously stated, one of the Galaxy S10e’s more attractive features might, ironically, be its smaller size. As main flagships get ever-larger, a contingent of consumers have steadily gone for smaller phones – just look at the popularity of the iPhone SE (RIP) - and the S10e is as manageable as top-tier phones get with a width of 2.75 inches. (Curiously, the iPhone XS is the smallest of its generation, and the S10e is smaller than that phone by a hair.)

Capture incredible 4K UHD videos with a front-facing camera for the first time on a Samsung Galaxy phone. Achieve super steady footage with the Galaxy S10e's ultra-wide rear camera and intelligent software for smooth filming, even when your journey is on the adventurous side. Thanks to its Infinity O display, the Galaxy S10e provides an edge-to-edge screen experience, without the requirement of a large, space-stealing notch. Always-On technology provides you with handy on-screen notifications – while saving you power.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is a cheaper flagship phone that hits most of the same highs as its costlier siblings. You're still getting the same fantastic display, brisk performance, streamlined software and generous specs that make the S10 and S10 Plus great, only without some bells and whistles you don't really need (like the in-display fingerprint sensor). However, Samsung didn't make the best choice when placing the side buttons (volume control and Bixby) on the left edge. If the engineers wanted to create the first high-end smartphone especially for left-handers, they certainly succeeded! The S10e is a beautiful piece of tech, and it deserves an interface that feels as futuristic and advanced as its exterior. That said, there are some things I really like about OneUI. Samsung's gesture interface is one of the simplest and cleverest I've encountered yet, as the company has just replaced Android's traditional three-button navigation bar with three zones to swipe up and trigger those same functions. And OneUI's Night Mode is not only a bit more stylish and easier on the eyes, but also saves energy, too. The Galaxy S10e is fitted with Samsung’s new Dynamic AMOLED screen, which is Full HD+ in resolution, as opposed to the S10 and S10 Plus’ screen resolution of Quad HD+. That’s certainly not a bad thing, though: this is still Samsung’s best display yet and it also supports the HDR 10+ standard for the first time. This allows for a far better viewing experience, with increased dynamic range when watching movies and playing Android games. Although Samsung's new Android interface, called OneUI, is quite a striking departure from the look and feel of the software on Samsung's older Galaxy handsets from the TouchWiz era. This is definitely a good thing.

Photos and video with one tap: capture multiple images and video all at once, in one tap. Lenses, effects and filters capture the best of every moment, every time

How about the photo and video capabilities of the Galaxy S10e?

While the S10e's approach works as well as any conventional scanner, in practice it can be hard to locate, because the depression of the power key within the frame isn't well pronounced. This led to many failed presses initially, with the phone constantly reminding me to cover the entire button when applying my prints. Once I established muscle memory for the proper location, though, the success rate significantly improved. Capture with pro-grade tool set made for masters: Control your camera settings with Pro-Video Mode to adjust the exposure, focus and more to bring your creative vision to life The S10e has been created with a flat FHD+ Super AMOLED display that’s able to automatically adapt to various lighting environments. Offering a broad range of colours, along with an incredible degree of colour clarity, you can expect to receive a greater resolution, along with immersive viewing when browsing, playing games, viewing pictures or watching films. In wrapping up there is not a thing I wish samsung had done differently, for my money the s10e US market version is just perfect. The Aus version only had 128 gigs of onboard storage with the US version having 256 gigs but both versions support a 1 tb sd card.

We also praised the very simplified design of the menu. True, some fans of the brand expected a much more complex presentation of functions and applications to get the most out of this high-tech screen. However, it is a revolutionary smartphone that is very easy to use that makes this smartphone overall a pleasurable experience.Updated Camera Features: Get the more powerful S10e with a software update that gives you all new features including Single Take AI, Pro Video and more The Galaxy S10e might initially be the least impressive of the family, but in the areas that matter most, it’s equally as formidable. You’ll spot a few compromises here and there but, considering the S10e is the cheapest of the three, the fact that it still brings top-end flagship specifications to the table is frankly mind-boggling. In a departure from previous Galaxy handsets, the S10e ships in a default state to a Natural color mode, which is more realistic and less saturated than the old Dynamic preset. That makes it punchier than the basic sRGB color space, and at least to my eyes, strikes closer to the DCI-P3 cinema spec, much like Apple's iPhones. The phone's 3100 mAh battery charges via USB-C and includes a selection of energy-saving modes as well as the option of fast charging. It can also charge wirelessly and features the brand's Wireless PowerShare technology, which enables you to use the S10e's battery to charge another device, such as wireless buds or a friend's compatible phone. Dual Rear Camera Samsung has also teamed up with Unity – the game engine that powers most Android games – to help improve gaming performance. We didn’t manage to spot the benefits during testing, as the S10e seemed to perform just as well as the others in our suite of GFXBench tests, but the overall gaming experience is remarkably fluid. You shouldn’t run into any issues when running the latest titles from the Google Play Store.
