About this deal

Enjoy any content in stunning colour accuracy and detail. With a wide range of colours, near limitless hues and HDR10, which makes dark colours darker and the brightest colours even brighter, every piece of content becomes a joy to look at and can be experienced exactly as the creator intended. That said, the downside to this monitor is that you now have one 34” wide, vs two monitors that act independently and can be independently controlled. I still think there is a place for a 34” Ultra Widescreen over dual monitors. The overall productivity increase from having one monitor is unquestionable. The clarity, colour quality and overall fatigue levels from not having to turn your head constantly helps. The decision on should you go for dual monitors or a single monitor will come to your use case criteria. In my case, I have replaced one of my daily desktop setups with this 34” ultrawide, while I source a 4K version of a curved ultrawide to replace the dual 24” IPS screens.

In terms of the build quality, I have no complaints. The base might be thin, but it is a solid hunk of metal and feels very sturdy. I don’t have issues with screen wobble on my unit, and it doesn’t have any issue maintaining all of aforementioned physical adjustments. The A650 appears well-built, and I like the classy aesthetic. It’s not too business oriented, and it’s also not gamer-oriented. While it’s largely a plastic build, everything feels solid without also being super heavy. The S6 34 boasts 100hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time, which should give you a pretty clean screen during most scenes with a lot of action. I liked the central control on the bottom of the monitor, as it is easy to find and adjust settings. The monitor provides ample ergonomic adjustments from colour temperature adjustment to display height (about 5” rise) and tilt angle up to 25*. This monitor can be set to be placed in a very ergonomic position for any office setup. I have two devices that I need to switch between frequently, and this monitor works well for that. I have a work laptop connected over USB-C, which supplies the laptop with display, power, and ethernet, and the monitor is plugged into an Insignia USB switcher. On the switcher, I have mouse/keyboard, headset, and webcam. The other device is my gaming PC, which is connected to the monitor via DisplayPort and connected to the switcher's other port.that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any person or entity; To start, this monitor is not a 4K monitor. With a resolution of 3440x1440, it is considered 2K since 4K resolution starts at 3840x2160. Even though it’s not 4K, this screen size still works beautifully with games that support it. The monitor is labeled as “WQHD”, which stands for Wide Quad HD. The QHD part of it means that the monitor has four times as many pixels as 720p resolution (standard HD). The Wide part refers to the wide resolution, but that’s apparently a bit redundant since all HD resolutions are meant to be widescreen. The monitor has a refresh rate of 100Hz, which is impressive when paired with the screen resolution. In my opinion, it’s sort of the middle of the road for refresh rate for gaming, but when you think about all the other activities the monitor might be used for, 100Hz is a good option - especially if you are upgrading from a lower refresh rate like 60Hz. With a contrast ratio of 4000:1, the monitor has a nice range of brightness vs. dark levels. It also has a brightness rating of 300 candela per square meter, which puts it into the ‘high-level brightness’ category for monitors/TVs. With these specs in mind, I would consider this a decent monitor for photography, but it’s probably best suited for general productivity, gaming, and other entertainment purposes. Immerse yourself in detail. Within games, movies or design projects, surround yourself with the 34" ultra-wide curved display featuring a 21:9 aspect ratio. Ultra-WQHD provides the simplest way to maximise your screen real estate and experience truly seamless multitasking on just one screen. The screen itself is a beauty, 3440 x 1440 at 100hz, I have HDR and Freesync enabled. The games itself looked gorgeous on and gameplay was visually smooth. Other then the time I spent gaming I used it for work, you have a ton of screen space for spreadsheets. Working with two documents side by side was pleasant also, the monitor is wide enough to accommodate this without feeling scrunched. Picture in Picture (PIP) mode which allows you to use two sources at the same time (split screen or full screen with picture of 2nd source on one of the corners.

This monitor was tested both on a PC and a Mac to evaluate the possibility of getting more of these monitors. A late 2013 Mac Pro is used for editing 4K footage and is usually hooked to dual 4K screens. The setup experience of this monitor with the mac was not any different from the PC. We loved that as an editing solution, it was easy to fit in all the necessary windows needed to create and edit. The timeline and source windows all fit in nicely, and because they are on one screen, it eliminates some of the headaches of dragging and dropping clips across screens. However, in this case, the 1440P resolution meant this monitor is more set up for my everyday use than hardcore 4K video editing. If you do not need the ability to preview 4K for video editing, this screen will work well, but in my case, that was not an option. use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity. The initial setup via HDMI was easy, though one needed to reset the resolution to match the screen. Using Display Port also was no hassle in comparison. USB-C video connectivity was a bit unpolished of an experience; even so, my laptop requires more power and far outstrips the 90W PD via USB-C, which meant it needed to be plugged directly into the wall with its charger to use the USB-C video out.

My current desktop setup consists of two 24” 1080P (1920x1080) IPS screens; for a lot of my everyday work, a single widescreen 34” in a 21:9 format would be a more suitable replacement. Considering the max spec resolution of 3440x1440@100hz (1440p) and its size, it is equivalent to my dual-screen setup. It’s well-designed and otherwise a joy to use. The display is good, but not the best I’ve used. And while it claims to support HDR10, it’s not bright enough and also not VESA-certified.

Enhanced concentration and comfort Boost productivity and reduce eye strain for those long working days. 1000R curvature closely matches the curve of the human field of sight, allowing content to be viewed at a glance while proven to effectively limit eye strain compared with flat monitors, for a more comfortable experience. The stand doesn’t have a swivel which might be desirable for some workflows like coding, but since this display has such a strong curvature, it wouldn’t be such a great experience. Any capable laptop or desktop will be able to reach the full potential of the monitor at 3440x1440 and 100Hzs.A lot of devices will connect at 3440x1440 and 60Hzs, so you might have to go into your advanced display properties on Windows,or straight through your graphics cards software to change the refresh rate. Dynamic Brightness: Automatically adjust the Brightness to provide the best possible screen contrast under the current conditions. Enhance productivity and reduce eye strain for those long working days. 1000R curvature closely matches the curve of the human field of sight, allowing content to be viewed at a glance while proven to effectively limit eye strain compared with flat monitors for a more comfortable experience. When it comes to writing documents, graphics design and coding, the monitor has my dual 24” setup beat. While I tend to have reference documents (or a movie) on the second monitor, the ease of having it all on one monitor and not having to turn my head to look up a reference made things so easy. If anything, the ergonomic solution made me more productive once you got used to the deep curve. The curve is intense, which takes some getting used to moving from a single or dual monitor setup. The distortion of the image from the curve is quite noticeable at first.
