About this deal

Personalmente non ho notato alcun difetto, penso che si tratti di un prodotto eccellente sotto ogni punto di vista. NOTE, for you to achieve ANY device's max speed, all "links" in the chain must share the same standard. For example, a 10Gb/s port will only hit 5Gb/s on an SSD capped at USB 3.0. The device, the cable, AND the computer must all support the same exact specification. I call this the "Strong Link Policy." When converted, 2000MB/s (or 2 Gigabytes per second) is equal to about 16 GigaBITS/s. And its competitors are hitting about 1000MB/s, which is 8Gb/s. Need to expand the local storage on your PC or Mac for music and movies, or all the pics and videos you collect from your phone? The traditional answer has been an external hard drive. The newer, better answer is a portable solid-state drive (SSD).

Get fast NVMe™ solid state performance featuring 1050MB/s 2 read and 1000MB/s 2 write speeds in a portable, high-capacity drive that’s perfect for creating amazing content or capturing incredible footage. External SSDs are now readily available and cheaper than they were a few years ago, but it will probably be a while before they are a complete replacement for hard drives. Physically larger external drives designed to stay on your desk or in a server closet still mostly use 3.5-inch platter drives inside, taking advantage of their vast capacities and much lower prices per gigabyte compared with SSDs.Arguably more important than the type of storage mechanism inside an external SSD is how it connects to your PC or Mac. Almost all external SSDs today plug into either some flavor of USB port, or a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port.

Now, to answer your question, powering up the drive containing that memory does not refresh it's content. You can keep it powered up continuously, the information stored in the transistors is NOT UPDATED OR REFRESHED by the power applied to device, unless you write again the information. This principle of refreshing the data from time to time is used in the RAM memory in computers, and losing power leads to losing data. SanDisk’s Extreme v2 is a bit bigger than the original, measuring 101 x 52 x 9 mm and weighing in at under 63 grams. With a carabiner loop integrated and a durable silicone coating, the Extreme v2 features a functional, portable, and enduring design for those on the move in tough conditions. But unlike the Extreme Pro, the Extreme v2’s case and internal structure is made of plastic rather than rigid aluminum. This makes for a small and compact design that is also pretty light, but a little less resistant to twists and bending. Get extra peace of mind with a 5-year limited warranty 3 and a durable silicon shell that offers a premium feel and added protection to the drive’s exterior. This is also where a spec known as the "terabytes written" rating (or TBW) comes in. It refers to how much data can be written to a drive over its life before some cells on that drive begin to fail. The entire drive itself won't stop functioning, but rather, less and less storage will be made available as time goes on. It doesn't require a Thunderbolt controller. Right! But it also is a dual-lane process. Meaning it also needs 2 lanes of 20Gbps both ways to support its max 40Gbps. Main difference between USB 4 and TB is that it is not required to provide a higher power spec, displays, or PCIe support, it's required only to support data, hence the "gatekeeper" is not as strict. However, the USB-IF (the peeps who make this stuff up), since they love confusion, allow alternative configurations (min. spec is 20Gb/s). Build quality - EXCELLENT. The combination of the plastic/rubber outside with an aluminum frame not only gives this drive better durability, but also great feel in the hand. Feels significantly more substantial than the regular, non-Pro (portable) version, and provides peace of mind over something like the Samsung T5/T7. My only negative: I wish the Sandisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD had an activity light (so I could tell [at a glance] when it is reading-writing). Note that this device is totally silent and warm to the touch, so not always obvious when it is reading-writing data. Not a big enough negative for me to deduct a star.
