The transmitter is also portable, and the headphone design is not bulky either. All the controls are placed on the headphone pad. Increase the volume of the analog audio source to at least a medium level or disable the mute function. RF headphones use a modulating transmitter for transmitting audio. And some people think it is not easy to control without even using them.

So, you can be relaxed even if you forget to remove the headphone from the holder. Wireless TransmissionFilm dialogue was crisp through the RS 175, and with Bass mode on or off, the headphones pumped out plenty of rumble when watching modern TV and movies. Surround mode can make dialogue sound pretty unnatural, though—voices outdoors in the middle of fields got the same ambient-sounding reverb as if they were in a room. I recommend leaving the Surround mode off, but there's no reason you can't test it out and see if you personally like the effect. In the next part, I will share if this headset is not suitable for gaming. Sennheiser RS 175: For Gaming

The RS 175 has two settings you can play with: a Bass mode (Off/On) and a Surround mode (Off/Low/High). The RS 175 sounds very bright and at times a little thin without Bass mode activated. Turn it on and the mix sounds full, rich, and lively.

These were soon joined by a pair of cheaper RS 120's to go with a tv setup for casual ... Read more viewing. They were light, bright sounding and used regular AAA rechargeable batteries, but had an annoying habit of blasting you with static if they lost a signal. I couldn't count the times I'd fallen asleep in front of the tv and been woken by a savage blast of static at 3am, signaling it's time to go to bed. I wouldn't be surprised to learn my wife requested this function from Sennheiser to save her having to wake me herself. Now I will describe the controlling system so that you can handle them without any hassle. How to Control RS 175 Headphones? Like I alluded to before, the digital transmission also improves the sound quality, and this is pushed even further with the utilisation of both “Bass Boost” and “Surround Sound Listening Modes”. The Bass Boost of course improves bass response and overall bass accuracy, with the surround sound modes giving you greatly improved spatial and lively audio. First things first let’s talk about the wireless transmission itself. Opting for a type of digital wireless transmission instead of the traditional Radio Frequency means that they can send a higher quality of signal and keep things even more crisp and spatially accurate whilst still maintaining the allure of being able to move from room to room. Confusingly, digital wireless transmission is considered “Line of Sight” meaning that technically the sender should be able to see the headphones. In practice though not only does Sennheiser state you can move from room to room but I’ve even tried them and had no issue, so I’m not really sure why they’ve stated it.

Because I feel pressure around my ear after using them for an extended time, sometimes my ears hurt and feel numb too. Set the digital audio output of your device/audio source to "PCM" with a maximum sampling rate of 96 kHz. The only other slight issue I have is really getting used to the volume controls on the right hand side earpiece. The + and - (volume up and down) buttons are close together and quite a few times I have pressed the control above these two and activated the bass boost (which is not really needed at all in my opinion). It would be much better if the 'bass boost" and "surround sound" buttons were on the left hand side thus separating the three functions. They have the following connections available, Digital Audio out, 3.5 mm. Stereo, 6.3 mm. Stereo and RCA connections so they will be adaptable to a variety of situations. And of course, both of them are not foldable and are not travel-friendly either. 3. Sennheiser RS 165 vs. 175The RS 165 has only BASS mode and analog input. But with RS 175 you have both BASS and surround sound mode with analog and digital input options. This headphone has an ideal frequency response that is suitable for all genres of music and audio contents. The supplied transmitter has the ability to support two pairs of headphones simultaneously. It's also flexible in terms of music sources. With both optical and analogue inputs you can connect it to all types of hi-fi and AV products, from digital AV receivers to more traditional hi-fi amps. The transmission strength is excellent here too. Sennheiser believes you can travel a distance of up to 330 feet without losing your connection. It was difficult to test this in our office – but we had no problem when walking around spaces and closing doors. Signals even worked well through walls. Sennheiser RS 175 review: Performance As the audio cables are compatible with your Xbox One and PS4, you can only play those games that don’t need any voice chat. Suitable for Studio Or Not

The Sennheiser RS175 is not Bluetooth headphones. It uses radiofrequency to deliver sound from the transmitter to your ears. However, you can lower the leakage by keeping the volume at a moderate level. Does It have a Noise-Canceling Feature? The status LED turns red, and you will hear a beep sound from the headphone when the battery is almost empty. Well, it’s time to talk about the battery details as they are famous for long battery life. Battery DetailsCompared to many of the other parts of the wireless headphone world, the category dedicated to home theatre performance is pretty niche. Like most wireless headphones, the RS 175's come as a base transmitter unit and a matching headset. Both models have similar features like wireless connectivity with a 100m transmission range, supports analog and digital input, can connect two headphones at a time, and has an 18 hours battery life. One of my friends had a bad experience with them. When he called customer support, he stayed on hold for a long time.
