The battery lasted throughout our entire test, but we did notice it depleted faster than other models we tested. If you have a larger home, you may run out of battery before finishing the job. That said, we loved that the self-cleaning and self-drying features made it easy to maintain the vacuum throughout our three-month at-home testing period. Plus, it can connect to a compatible app through a WiFi connection, though we didn’t think this feature was necessary. It was also easy to maneuver around chairs and under tables, and the battery only drained 30% throughout our lab testing. If we could change one thing, we wish we could use it on carpet, too. Additionally, the vacuum has LED headlights to reveal crumbs and hair in hidden areas. Plus, the handle pivots to seamlessly maneuver around edges and corners. However, this is a corded model, so it’ll need to be plugged into an outlet during operation. But, at 25 feet long, the cord is long enough to reach across many rooms without constantly needing to move to a new outlet. If you're concerned about the country of origin, on paper at least Shark is the more patriotic buy: its headquarters are in Needham, Massachusetts while Eufy's home is in China. But today's electronics firms are global and outsource their manufacturing, so both brands' cleaners are primarily made in China.

Shark has models at quite a few price points and the level of quality varies on how much you invest. The premium and mid-range models come with some great new features and some stellar performance. But, as you go cheaper, they get a little more barebones in terms of features and don’t have as much oomph. They can also suffer from reliability issues as some have reported online. What does “Stratos” means? Weight: The weight of the 11 models we tested ranged from under 4 pounds to more than 12 pounds — without the added weight of a full clean water tank! Because these are devices that you have to push along the floor, weight is an important factor to consider. Models with self-propelling capabilities that minimize the effort required to push them forward can often make up for the extra weight. We saw this in our tests when one of our heaviest models, the Dreametech H11 Max, still earned a perfect score for maneuverability. Wrapping Up While the best vacuum and mop combo we tested was a Bissell model, the Bissell 2554A CrossWave Cordless Max didn’t perform in the same fashion. It took multiple passes to clean a small area, and it ultimately felt as if we were just pushing around the mess rather than cleaning it. Plus, it was difficult to maneuver on carpets. Maintenance: If your robot needs maintenance or cleaning, the blinking red light may signal that it requires attention.
Inside, there was a small amount of dirt, but the pad would last for at least another session before having to be replaced with a fresh pad. If portability is a priority, one of the best cordless vacuums from Shark is going to be a better fit. Not only are you not limited by a cord, but these types are typically made to be lighter and more compact. You won’t have quite the same dustbin capacity or power, but you’ll find these types to be easier to use.
Robot vacuums need help working on dark ground because their sensors are mostly based on light and clashing colors.
