About this deal

The integration uses Device Name to name its entities if the device has only one relay or no relays at all. If you tap the ”Time” box you can also find ”Sunrise” and ”Sunset” options. This is a pretty cool functionality to build automation based on the time of the day. It will keep in mind your actual geographic position. If you have external temperature or humidity sensors connected to the Shelly 1PM, you can also read their values over MQTT. Temperature ¶ For lights, they had bought and implemented 2 TP-Link bulbs/globes but hadn't thought about if they switch off at the wall, then the lights lose their power. Two integrated precise power meters that allow you to measure the consumption for each channel separately.

When I initially wrote this, I was staying at a friend's house who had bought a few Smart Home products, but had created islands of devices and had not thought about a platform to run them all on, even though they are an Apple centric home, with iPhones, Mac's and an tv HD.It seems that both timers can’t be used at the same time. I managed to enable and set times for both timers in the app, but in reality, the relay only obeys the other. This is most likely made on purpose so that you can’t make an infinite loop of relay changing state. In my case, macOS showed a popup with Tasmota's captive portal. If this doesn't happen on your computer, navigate to the Shelly 2.5 directly: http://192.168.4.1 Deciding on the right smart switch for your home automation system can be challenging, especially when the options are as closely matched as the Shelly 2.5 and Shelly Plus 2PM. An interesting feature of Shelly 2.5 is the ability to trigger custom REST calls based on predefined conditions like relay status change. These can be used to interact with other ecosystems. For anyone who doesn’t like Cloud, Shelly 2.5 also offers a web-server-based interface with all functions available. In this mode, the device doesn’t need the Shelly Cloud app to work and can be accessed directly via IP.

Toggle: This should be used when you have a flip switch, i.e. basic light switch with two different positions. When it is set this way, the switch always turns relay the ON in a certain position and OFF in the other position. You might have noticed that I create a "useless" binary sensor in the configuration file: binary_sensor : The Shelly app includes all of your Shelly devices and their settings, however, through the web interface, you can only control the device that you connect to. This means that the web interface obviously has only the settings needed to control the connected device. It is very small ( 39 x 36 x 17mm) so it can be installed in a box behind your wall switch and you can connect the existing switch/Push button to it. This is great, becuase it allows you to turn virtually any old fashion switch into a smart one that can be remotely operated or manually.
