About this deal

La Prairie MIDNIGHT RAIN, unlike SILVER RAIN, conveys through its name the basic nature of the perfume. There is a darkness, a somewhat purple or dark blue richness, to this composition, which also features amber and therefore evokes in my mind memories of PRADA for her. MIDNIGHT RAIN, however, is lighter on the amber and a lot sweeter than the Prada creation. Still, I find them to be much closer olfactory neighbors than either one of them is to, say, Thierry Mugler ANGEL! And when it gets down to that musky cashmere wood baby softness, I'm in a bliss into the next day. Oh, it's lovely. What is it about this expression, "Angel clone", that I do not understand? I know what ANGEL is. I believe that I understand the meaning of the word 'clone'. Why is every other sweet floriental in The Holey[sic] Book dismissed derisively as an "Angel clone"? Oh well. There is FRUIT. Quite a bit of it, actually. Apparently it's raining guava and it's a downpour! Guava is heavy throughout the entire life of this fragrance. You must love the note to even begin to tolerate this composition. Fortunately I find guava appealing, BUT not enough to be drenched in it.

MR isn't more expensive than fragraces from D&G or Chanel, so I don't mind the pricetag for a frag of this quality. The longevity is about 4-6 hours on me, or even longer but after that it's more of a soft, sweet skinscent (same as other high end frags). After about 4-5 hours I feel like I want to refresh, to make it stronger. Our Fragrances can smell Very Similar to your favourite desired ones. However, they are never Identical, as the ingredients used in making our perfumes are totally Vegan. So, perfumes that contain animal notes such as Civet, Ambergris, Musk, Honey, Milk and Castoreum will never smell identical but somehow very similar as we recreate these notes using Vegetable derived elements. Vetiver is the 11th fragrance note in La Prairie Life Threads Silver. Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver and khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. Wow, this is beautiful! I never tried Forbidden Euphoria, but Midnight Rain is everything I wanted Euphoria to be. It's a similar kind of scent, just much better in every aspect: Less harsh, more creamy, better use of fruity notes, more rounded. But enough with the comparisons, Midnight Rain can stand on its own!

Anyhow, when I came across Midnight Rain, I was thrilled. I spritzed it on a sample card and took it home. I kept it on my makeup table and sniffed it excitedly, knowing I had finally found a keeper. I waited for my birthday to ask for it (because as many have noted, it's pricey!) Midnight Rain is such a rich and pleasant scent to my nose. I can absolutely understand why it's a bit polarizing, though. The interaction between tropical fruits and patchouli/musk comes across as either cacophonous or transcendent depending on one's palate and skin chemistry. I was very skeptical when I blind bought my slightly used bottle for a ridiculously low price, and I couldn't be happier! Allowing Silver Rain to settle, I was once again surprised to find a more complex blend in the heart. It just keeps getting better. A sweet floral blend, made up of rose, jasmine and magnolia, tends to smooth out the fruitiness while still keeping things bold and fun.i can imagine spraying myself over and over with this and i would feel like a goddess in paradise, sitting inbetween ripe fruits and berries and juices, smelling their intense aroma, inhaling a deep breath of woods and mosses to my nostrils, while delicate flowers are spriding intense trails of their pollen everywhere and the creamy odor of their petals hangs around in the air like clouds of sweet dreams. Absolutely useless trying this scent on the fly, from the cap, etc., that’s how I passed by silver and colored bottles for years (the SA said they all smell the same). Even wearing Silver rain for an hour made no big sense for me at first: light feminine vanilla with a non-fluffy/ non-yummy facet, there seemed nothing really remarkable about it except its longevity maybe. Vetiver is the 13th fragrance note in La Prairie Life Threads Platinum. Chrysopogon zizanioides, commonly known as vetiver and khus, is a perennial bunchgrass of the family Poaceae. Many users say that they get ecstatic feeling sniffing this perfume, which tells that composition is real masterpiece. Scent very rich, greatly rounded, I get mostly combination of fruity notes and flowers with patchouli as undernote wich makes it more stable.
