Absent is a numeric pad to allow you to input channels or other functions that may need numbers. I have been a cord-cutter for at least four years now, so this doesn’t bother me. But, I could see this being a deal-breaker for someone who uses the number pad for TV channel input vs. the on-screen menus. So, it’s been a full year with the Sofabaton. I am sure you are curious if I still have my Harmony Elite in the loop. Well, I do, but not so much for me. My wife still prefers the Harmony remote. It’s not that she doesn’t understand or can’t “get” the swing of the Sofabaton. It’s more that she is accustomed to the Harmony and doesn’t see the need to go to another remote. If I disconnected the Harmony and all we had was the Sofabaton, she would be able to navigate it all. So it’s been a whole month since I posted my review, and I have been using the Sofabaton X1 exclusively as my daily remote. So while I still don’t feel as if I am an expert with the remote, I can give you all a good sense of if it’s worth your cash. And if you don’t want to read the rest of the update, I will give you the skinny. I think Sofabaton will make this a great remote, and I recommend that you get one if you are willing to work with the shortcomings now for a great remote later. OK? Let’s discuss. Sofabaton spares no effort to research and develop electrical remote control to compatible with various of devices. Hi all, I wanted to share my experience with the SofaBaton X1. I am a long-time Harmony user, and have had a Harmony Elite for years. I decided to give the X1 a try and had a pretty negative experience. So the million-dollar question. Do I recommend the Sofabaton X1 as a worthy successor to Harmony? As I said before, yes. It is not as polished as the Elite. But this is Sofabaton’s SECOND remote control. That’s right, folks. They are probably 90%+ of the functionality of the Harmony Elite after their second remote. I expect that there with be a Sofabaton X2 or X1 (ver 2) that will give you a touch screen or some other enhancements. Plus, I am certain that they will get all the bugs worked out.

As far as the skipping goes, remotes like these often have an option for how many times the command is repeated per button press. If you are finding number or direction commands double-tapping, you should be able to dial it down to 1 or 0 repeats, depending on the limitations of the software. The app device add/repair button is synchronized to the remote control, and the remote control will display one more button； Another limitation I disliked is that the SofaBaton X1 has very limited support of IP-controlled devices. My Sony television is IP-controlled and can do IR if needed. The X1 will not control that TV via IP, and the documentation shows IP support for just a few devices. If the HUB is not connected to the network or the network fails to be configured or the HUB is disconnected from the network, the indicator light of the HUB will be in green ，but the normal way is in blue. You are advised to display the indicator light of the HUB in related scenarios；

APP side: Add/repair button list, sort button；Remote control side: button list will not be automatically synchronized, manual synchronization is required to restore the consistency； The instructions are the weakest piece here, and I am being generous. The instructions focus heavily on pairing the hub/remote and setting up the devices and activities. However, the instructions do not speak to the proper placement of the hub for correct use or how to connect and place IR blasters. Unfortunately, Logitech Harmony, a reputable industry leader, has announced that it has abandoned the universal remote control business. Sofabaton, a group of hardcore fans of audio-visual products, decided to step forward as the new leaders of remote control devices and provide users better features, more convenience, and ultimate control for their components. Lastly, the remote is tough. I recently got a new puppy, and he has had my Sofabaton X1 in his mouth several times with nary a scratch. So I can confirm that the finish on the remote is tough as nails. Our Take: Part Two
