Description

When you think of Italy, you think of the classics: the fresh pizza from Naples, creamy Cacio e pepe from Rome, rich red wine from Tuscany, or sweet cannoli from Sicily. They’re all classic comfort flavours, and at this time of year, that’s exactly what is needed. It’s getting colder and darker, and there’s nothing better than a soothing hug in a bowl or glass – a real winter warm. Well, Stambecco liqueurs have come up with just the thing, and the ultimate Italian classic comfort-in-a-bottle: tiramisu liqueur. Arrange half the soaked savoiardi biscuits in a single layer in the base of a large rectangular dish. Top with half the mascarpone mixture, followed by half the chopped chocolate. Repeat with the remaining biscuits, mascarpone mix and chocolate. Cover the tiramisu(s) with cling film and chill for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.

How to Drink: Serve 1 part Starlino Arancione over ice in a large wine glass and top with 1 part Sparking wine and 1 part Soda. Garnish with a slice of fresh orange. We opted for a layered approach to look like Sam Heughan’s — a layer of oats, then the raspberries, then the cream. Repeat and garnish with the raspberries we set aside earlier. Stir the Stambecco Tiramisu into the espresso in a shallow bowl. Soak one side of the savoiardi biscuits in the mixture for a couple of seconds before turning them over and repeating. Stambecco Tiramisu Liqueur was created by the Vergnano family at the Torino Distillati distillery in Piemonte, North-Eastern Italy. It is made with 100% natural ingredients, including Espresso coffee extracts from local suppliers in the Torino area, which is known as the capital of Italian coffee. Master Distillers Beppe Ronco and Denis Muni created this liqueur in honour of Tiramisu, the traditional Italian dessert that is known and loved around the world. The word Tiramisu translates as “Cheer you up!” How to Drink: The Select Spritz is best served in a large wine glass: combine 3 parts Select Aperitivo, 2 parts chilled prosecco over ice, top with a splash of soda water and very gently stir. Garnish with a green olive – the bigger, the better.

However, Stambecco certainly isn’t the only drinks supplier hoping to cash in on a move to coffee-flavoured liqueur. And while we could offer you a painstakingly stirred Old Fashioned, or a glass of port alongside the cheeseboard, we think there’s also space for an unapologetically sweet liqueur. Big gar and Le ith is a company that owns and imports a portfolio of fine wines , spirits , and fancy goods from family – owned producers who are dedicated to quality , innovation , and craft smanship . The company is based in the New York area and has a distribution network across the globe . Big gar and Le ith was founded by El wyn Glad stone , who is also the founder of Malf y Gin . Whisk the egg whites until stiff. Gently fold the whites into the mascarpone mixture, adding just 1 tbsp at first to loosen, then adding the rest in two batches. Chill for 25 minutes.

Keep some raspberries to the side to garnish. Crush the remaining raspberries in a bowl and add the caster sugar, 1 tbsp of honey, and 1 tbsp of Sassenach. Take it out of the fridge around 20 minutes before you want to eat it. Dust with cocoa powder, sprinkle with more chopped chocolate, then serve. Sweet and oh-so-indulgent, liqueurs are the perfect end to any meal. Typically, they will have a lower ABV of around 15-20% (as opposed to a straight spirit such as gin, which will be upwards of 40%), making them ideal drunk neat or over ice. Upon opening the bottle, there’s an immediate hit of coffee – classic to a tiramisu – with a delicate sugary sweet hint of chocolate. The tasting notes promise flavours of coffee, mascarpone, savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers to you and I) and cocoa and boy, does it deliver! The ultimate digestif, it’s safe to say liqueurs have moved on since Baileys first burst onto the market (although if that’s your tipple of choice, no shade). These days, sweet can co-exist with sophisticated — you just need to be savvy about the brands you invest in.

Baileys cheesecake was something my mum used to make a lot, but in classic Irish mammy fashion, she doesn’t actually have a recipe to share as she basically wings it every time, so we’ve gone to the brand itself for this one.
