Description

Commander Cody feels like a perfect representation of what he is like in the animated show, a commander that knows how to deal significant damage and to direct his forces to military success. The combination of his unit card and all of it functions with the command cards he has creates a commander for the game of legion that is both cheaper to bring and more formidable, making him able to hit that sweet spot of being a feasible option for small battles.

Each player will also have a free action they can do as a result of the character they are playing. Weapons Factory" - Geonosis - " While Separatist super tanks engage a frontal assault, Jedi launch an incursion through Geonosian catacombs." Blue Shadow Virus" - Naboo - " In a secret bio-weapons lab, Dr. Nuvo Vindi engineers an airborne strain of a previously eradicated disease." We are using a custom rating scale. Each game will be evaluated by both of us on 1 to 10 scale in five areas. When combined, this creates a possible score out of 100. Once you have assembled your forces you them need to assemble your force adding in troopers, vehicles, and of course, characters from the epic film series. Just as they should, characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader can change the course of the battle, if used to their strengths!

Her Comments: I am not as familiar with The Clone Wars, but after playing the game we ended up watching a few episodes. I do see how the theme comes through.

Responsibilities in the real world all too often get in the way of game night. Star Wars: The Clone Wars includes rules for playing the game solo for those times when you can’t get the squad together in person. One-player gameplay is virtually identical in scope and time to playing with friends, which was important to the design team. The Zillo Beast" - Malastare - " When a weapons test awakens a colossal creature from beneath Malastare, the Republic must find a way to contain it." Players will take turns in this game that follow a similar structure. First on a player's turn they ready any cards that are exhausted from using them. Then the player may take four actions. The success of this tactical space fighting game has spawned imitations across the hobby. But X-Wing has two things its mimics do not. First, it's Star Wars. Second, the figures are pre-painted to a high standard, so you can have amazing-looking games for zero effort. And if you collected Star Wars toys as a kid, the nostalgia appeal is impossible to ignore. Her Comments: In general it is good throughout with a high level of tension. Sometimes though it can go south in a hurry and that can be frustrating.Hostage Crisis" - Coruscant - " Cad Bane seizes control of the Galactic Senate Building, trapping senators and officials inside."

Villains are too easy. Indeed in the TV show, villains were not the big boss. Their villany was more about their ability to constantly harass the Jedis. This is perfectly depited in this game. You will try to stop the droid invasion and fulfill the missions, but the vilain will be there to make your life hard, so you will need to face the villain several times, like in the show. Since this is not a skirmish game, do not expect a big boss fight. If you want that, you will need to play Shatterpoint. My Comments: Personally I would prefer a Clone Wars game more along the lines of Rebellion, but this works well enough. Co-op games still are not my favorite, but the decent use of my favorite theme carries this one across the line for me.Citadel Rescue" - Lola Sayu - " A daring rescue is mounted at an impenetrable prison designed to hold rogue Jedi." Star Wars: The Clone Wars has a higher RRP than Pandemic, but it isn't hard to see why. The miniatures are a fantastic addition and would make great projects for anyone who’s handy with a can of primer and a brush. Out of the playable Jedi, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Ahsoka, and Mace Windu’s presence is hardly a surprise, but it’s nice to see a couple of characters that ardent fans will recognise in Luminara Unduli and Aayla Secura. And additional miniatures would be the perfect excuse for future expansions. Have you ever wanted to have a team of clone troopers at your fingertips, awaiting your next command? Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a collaborative strategy game that puts you in the well-worn boots of one of your favorite Jedi from the animated series of the same name. Deploy troopers alongside Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more to iconic locations featured in The Clone Wars stories. Complete all of your missions by waging battles against Separatists and Sith before they overwhelm the galaxy. Can you save the Republic before it’s too late? If you happen to be a long time reader of our little blog, then one of the things you know is that one of the things my wife and I agree on is that we do not like co-op games. And yet, we bought a cooperative game.

Naturally, basing a board game on The Clone Wars animated series required research for every area of gameplay, from the planets on the galaxy map to the details of the players’ missions. “The first thing I did when I started on the project was to watch the whole series from start to finish to make sure it was fresh in my mind,” Ortloff-Tang says. “Over the course of the project, I ended up rewatching it a bunch of times, both for inspiration and just for entertainment. It was fun to immerse myself in that era.” In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Separatist armies are powerful forces. The only way to defeat them is to take control of legendary heroes from the Clone Wars saga, such as Anakin Skywalker™, Ahsoka Tano™, Obi-Wan Kenobi™, Mace Windu™, Yoda™, Aayla Secura™, and Luminara Undula™, all with their own unique mastery of the force. Each of these heroes is represented by their own detailed and sculpted plastic figure. Solo rules are becoming more common in board games, and I see it as a great trend,” Ortloff-Tang says. “Solo rules give you the option to engage with the game even if no one else is around. They can also make it easier for a single person to learn a game before introducing it to others. And some people just really love playing board games solo on their own time at their own pace. All good reasons to make the game playable [for] one.”

A Galaxy Far Far Away ...

There are a few reasons why we took a chance on The Clone Wars. First, it is built off of Pandemic. We used to have Pandemic and we played it a decent amount. While it is not exactly a favorite game for either of us, it is one we would be willing to play. Second, our son does like cooperative games and we do not have many to play with him. Third, it is Star Wars. Honestly, if the first two reasons were not there, the third reason alone might be enough for me to get this. I really love Star Wars, but did we love this game? This game is based on the system of another game called Pandemic, where you need to stop the spread of a virus, in this case an invasion of droids. But there are key differences and improvements over the original game. First droids do not spread, they just invade and stay there. And the bureaucracy of cards used by the original pandemic is replaced with mission cards, that refer to specific episodes of the TV show, making it very thematic. Star Wars and Pandemic??? Did someone just raid my dreams? As you may already know, I love both of these IPs so bought this straight away!! But, did it live up to my expectations? Let's take a look into Pandemic: Star Wars The Clone Wars! Pandemic Vs Pandemic Star Wars The difficulty level is determined by how many missions you choose to complete. 'Padawan' is the easiest difficulty and requires three missions before reaching the finale, while Jedi Grandmaster is the hardest, tasking players with completing six. The game also challenges veteran players to take on even more missions, and if you’re really struggling or simply teaching the game to new players, there’s certainly no reason why you couldn’t play less than three missions. Solo rules are becoming more common in board games, and I see it as a great trend. Solo rules give you the option to engage with the game even if no one else is around. They can also make it easier for a single person to learn a game before introducing it to others. And some people just really love playing board games solo on their own time at their own pace. All good reasons to make the game playable [for] one.”
