Our TT development was handled by the legendary Ittoku Kuwazu, who was a fantastic partner to have work on this character. He was our design counterpart on Ravage as well, as the two figures needed to be developed in tandem." Arms, legs and palms replicate the robust proportions from the movie, with the upgraded shoulder blade design, conveying a strong sense of power. Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. Brain K. – Do these alt modes become canonical in movies or other mediums later? Nothing off table, but each partner will make a decision. It will be another point of influence.

The paint deco also takes cues from G1 Soundwave including gold trim around the chest panel, silver on the mouthplate, red strips around the wrists and a Decepticon symbol on the chest. I really love the deco on this figure. All he's "missing" is the dirt/weathering seen on the CG model but I'm actually okay with him looking "clean".

In most cases, I think we were very successful in accomplishing that. With Soundwave, I think we had our work cut out for us, and in the end preservation of the bot mode was given top priority. That’s about it. We would like to thank the Transformers Design and Marketing teams along with their PR reps for putting this together! We will update and refine this through the day. The sixth wave of Dark of the Moon Deluxe Class figures was released in Japan on December 21, whilst the US release, along with that of Human Alliance Soundwave, was ultimately cancelled. [1] At San Diego Comic-Con 2012, Hasbro stated that they were trying to find ways to get the figures out to American retailers; this ultimately never came to pass. Soundwave's thighs, shoulders, biceps, and upper torso skeleton are re-used from the Dark of the Moon toy above. The forearms were redesigned to have solar panels and slightly different "speaker" detailing, while also excluding the connectors for Laserbeak to perch on. Despite the Studio Series line's goal of being screen-accurate, the short length of his solar panels means that he is actually less accurate in satellite mode than his original Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class toys. His robot mode design had also been completely revamped from its original design, which had been the basis for his appearances in the IDW movie comics and various other forms of tie-in media until 2020. That being said, it should be noted that his robot mode was never shown in the Revenge of the Fallen film itself and Studio Series has already produced a number of toys based on characters who did not have robot modes on-screen.Remember, if a stranger asks you to go into his car, he's probably driving a giant evil robot with a satellite fetish. Rise Of The Beasts Mainline Wave 3 Battle Changers In Chile – 2005 Boards member martin entero shoro spotted ROTB Battle Changers Scourge at Ripley Viña del Mar. Lastly, Damn those knees! One of the biggest struggles with this figure was accounted for the PA parts in the mold. PA is a nylon like material with phenomenal tensile strength but with the unfortunate side effect of not accepting paint well. This material has been standardized for transformation joints to help prevent breakage from being a common rotation point. In most instances when you question, “I wonder why they didn’t paint that” it often means that the part was molded in PA."

Did he scratch the itch, or would you rather see him clad in his more iconic red colors? Part of the 15th wave of Studio Series Voyager Class toys, this Soundwave is an extremely accurate depiction of his appearance in the Bumblebee film. He transforms into a hovercraft that coincidentally evokes his alternate mode in Transformers vs. G.I. Joe " I Saw Three Ships". Like most of Bumblebee's Cybertronian characters, this alt mode was created by Hasbro and TakaraTomy as the film model was not designed to transform. He comes with a generic blaster and his signature shoulder cannon, both of which can store via 5mm ports on the sides of his vehicle mode but can also be attached via the prominent screw holes on the top which are also 5mm compatible.Robot Powered Machines Soundwave is a small, non-transforming pseudo-Scion XB with his robot mode sculpted underneath. Said robot mode resembles another Soundwave for some reason. The car's wheels feature through-axle construction for speedy racing on flat surfaces. Unlike other RPMs, Soundwave, along with the rest of the Metal Heroes, is made of die-cast metal. RPM Soundwave is probably the most homage-heavy Transformer ever produced: he has Animated Soundwave's alt mode and a mix between his regular and Electrostatic incarnations "tattoos", War for Cybertron Soundwave's robot mode (which in turn was heavily based on G1 Soundwave) and despite this, the bio and toyline clearly identify him as ROTF Soundwave. You can try and add Cybertron Soundwave to the list if you want, but that would be overkill. Ok, whose ready to talk Decepticon Seeker THRUST! I love these bot designs from the movie. I think the element that was most notable for me was the care that the design team at ILM put into differentiating the various seeker bots. We got to see some fantastic variations on the design in the film, with some nice nods to the G1 bot forms. We saw reuse of the Blitzwing head on most of the seekers, but the variations in the wing designs, and the awesome use of the “conehead” design helped to set them apart. I also love the variations in the livery treatments that made up the wings, which helped to keep all of the tetra jets looking unique. Ryan Y – Don’t forget about OG on-film guys that need to be done. Fallen, Frenzy, Brains – etc. They know they have a lot of work to do to fill the rosters. Movie 5 for example. The configuration for the satellite mode depicted in the toy's instructions is not the way Soundwave appears in the film, featuring a different angling for the panels on his shoulders. It's not a big change, but transforming the toy in accordance with his movie appearance does help to distinguish the jet from the satellite a little, since otherwise, virtually the only difference is in the positioning of the large panel "wings".
