Il professor Hunter era oscuro e tenebroso, ma bello da mozzare il fiato. Era sicuramente un insegnante giovane, ma in ogni caso più grande di lei di alcuni anni. Hoover is one of the freshest voices in new-adult fiction, and her latest resonates with true emotion, unforgettable characters and just the right amount of sexual tension. They hook up. It's naughty! But hot! But naughty! And Professor Hunter (never to be called anything else, like his actual name for example, because we need to remember this is a risqué relationship) is keeping secrets but they love each other like crazy (for real, like CRAZY) but then after immediately wanting her to move in with him, he learns his assumption about her age was wrong and "needs time" to figure things out. Again, because of the content of the story, you didn't get as much spice as I would have hoped. There was some roughness and the rooftop scene was very hot but I'm hoping the fifth book will sweep me off my feet. 🔥 Taboo scandal aside, there were so many red flags in their month long relationship. I hate it when an author forces an engagement/marriage just to speed up a plot line. It's okay to date, it's more believable. And you have like 5 more books coming along anyway.

She is lost and adrift as she begins the countdown to her June 30th wedding.I had already determined that the series was worth exploring, but once we hit that glorious moment of sexiness, I was hooked! A college sophomore and her professor conduct a steamy, forbidden affair in this contemporary romance novel. I was really in love with the emotions that this book brought out if me with the crying and laughing *about breaking up, marriage, gun shot. You know*. He had an ugly past and in some phases, he was letting his guard down and we could see a vulnerable man baneath the hard and sure exterior....

Once again we are treated to the angsty "love" between James and Penny - although honestly aside from some mediocre sex (that is meant to be really hot, but never gets there) there is nothing between these two. It's quite easy to see why his ex-wife (and James himself) repeatedly says it isn't love they share but he's addicted to her/sex. Professor Hunter was such an alpha, dominant man, so confident and strong! He has such a filthy, dirty mouth that just makes you all hot and bothered and I abso-freaking-lutely love that!! As in the previous books, there were plenty of steamy sex scenes. Does anyone else miss Penny calling James, Professor Hunter during sex? I definitely do! Those scenes were hot! Forbidden romance full of angst, secrets, and false assumptions. Some of the characters are immature and I wanted to take and shake them. I wasn't a big fan of her roommate and at times, Penny's immaturity was annoying. At times, I wondered what a twenty-seven-year-old professor who once had his own company would see in her. Having read some of the later books, I can say that she does mature and shows growth in later books. Plus, he is her professor.... I kept thinking of all the legal, ethical and moral issues that would come into play of a professor becoming involved intimately/romantically with a student. I would imagine that all universities would frown down upon that and have strict rules/code of conduct guidelines. But then again, wasn't that the point? That their relationship is naughty and forbidden? That they are throwing caution to the wind and going for it, it is a forbidden romance after-all. I did enjoy learning how the Penny and James I met in latter books, met in this book. This is definitely not your mother's harlequin romance! There are some hot scenes so if you don't like sex scenes in your romance books this wont be for you. If you are willing to overlook the issues surrounding the forbidden romance, you might just enjoy these characters and their story. I loved her when she was a Sanders. I loved her when she was a Pruitt. And even though I’m angry, I know I’ll love her now, as a Miller. But it’s about time I made her a Caldwell.Matthew Caldwell never forgot about me. I know that now. And a part of me wants to give us a second chance. When I’m in his arms, I feel 16 again. He takes away my pain. But I’m worried he’ll never forgive me… In short, Penny Taylor is an obnoxious hot mess of a little girl... And for some unknown reason, I was glued to her story. Drama, drama, drama. I'm pretty sure I even yelled at my book a few times.

I’ll definitely be reading the next three books for James and Penny’s story! Penny left Professor Hunter's Apartment at the end of the last episode convinced that James Hunter is a married man. It was a thoughtless tantrum that makes me want to shake the crap out of this girl. First, let me just say how much I hate Isabella! She’s a freaking heartless psychopath just like James’ mother! Those 2 should rot in hell for ever and ever! Could the past few years really mean so little to James? I'd do anything to protect him. He's my whole future. My whole life. The third installment in James and Penny’s story catches readers up to speed with the couple and brings them to the tumultuous last days before their wedding. The angst will have you in knots and the steam is hot. The characters are imperfect. James and Penny make some big mistakes. This book takes place over the course of a few very eventful weeks, and she struggles in her head over the changes and decisions she faces. Rob’s story in Third Chances chronologically follows Erupted; he and Daphne cross paths again while at James’s bachelor party. Tyler’s character feels very real, and the overall story builds as his own HEA approaches in Missing Pieces. Thirdly, I would like to think, no - no, I would hope above all that this story was exaggerated ‘slightly’ for the readers benefit! Especially since upon finishing several of these books, the author has told s that this love story is her and her husband’s love story. I hope you never had to go through any of what your character’s tragically did!! Can they have a true relationship when for all the others their status are making them forbidden to each other??? James Hunter gave up his billionaire lifestyle in NYC to become a professor. The easiest new rule to follow: don’t fraternize with the students. But he never expected to be teaching such a beautiful student. I have always loved this series because of its dense and captivating plot filled with so much emotions.

I can't even fully articulate what has me so hypnotized by this overly angsty New Adult Romance. Penny Taylor is the kind of character that I want to rail against. She consistently makes wrong decisions. It's pretty impressive, actually. Compelling — that’s maybe the best word I can use to describe this book! Because, I just couldn’t put it down - I couldn’t stop reading it - plus, I didn’t want to!! I started this series after I read the first 3 book of the Empire High series, but before Matchmaker. And I am severely disappointed.
