About this deal

A man willing to do anything to get what he wants . Selfish.controlling . An angry man with secret smiles and soft laughs and a golden heart he keeps hidden from the world” Mmmmmm nope . i wanted to like iris so much and i seriously tried! but somehow she reminded me of zahra from the fine print who i wasn’t a fan of. to me, terms and conditions is another version of the fine print but with a couple of changes. Iris is a force. My girl has not had it easy. From being bullied for her learning differences to growing up in an abusive environment, to not being able to complete her studies, I don’t even know where she found the strength to continue. Iris speaks to one of the plants in a hushed voice, stroking one of its leaves while apologizing for uprooting its life. She’s insane. There’s no other way to describe someone who coos at plants like they’re children. At least she’ll make a decent mother. Always having an imaginative streak, Lauren Asher would focus on her love of reading and writing from a very early age. This passion of hers would develop over time, allowing her to essentially become the full-time novelist she’d always wanted to become. Refining and honing her craft throughout the intervening years, she’d come to establish her own unique voice with its distinct style and tone.

Rowans grandfather passes away and leaves Rowan with a job to receive his 18% of the family’s company by identifying Dreamland’s weaknesses and head a renovation plan worthy of his grandfather’s legacy. This is when Zahra and Rowan meet, and sparks fly from the very beginning. The banter and chemistry between them was my favourite part. You could really see and believe the development of their relationship. Firstly Rowan , the love interest and pov no 2. To be plain , I just didn’t like him and once you don’t like or respect the main characters then that’s it for the book I guess . He was cold , rude , presumptuous and arrogant (not in the normal sense either )He was a JERK . Zara had this to say while they were together: Declan: Like Rowan, he has strong daddy issues, although in a different way, in this case Declan believes that he does not deserve to be loved by anyone. Iris came up with the plan to be his wife in a spur of the moment decision. It was rushed but thought out. Marry Declan, have a baby and go separate ways. They even set clear rules that defined the relationship, making it clear that feelings were never meant to be apart of it. These rules were meant to protect them, but Declan became tempting and wanted to take it further. Falling in love was never meant to be an option…. So why does it feel like the relationship isn’t fake anymore?

Christmas Cards & Gift Wrap

A lot of Declan’s struggle came from not wanting to be like his father but having those traits within him anyway, whilst trying to change and recognising those traits. BITCH WHAT never in my life have I felt this offended! Morally gray characters are fuming right, they didn’t do all of what they had to do, so this girl could come and insult them. THE AUDACITY. THE ONLY GRAY THING ABOUT ROBERTO IS THE ASH WHEN I BURN THIS BOOK DOWN. for the romance, it’s hard to detect any because unfortunately, i didn’t feel the chemistry between declan and iris. when i expect a marriage of convenience, boss/employee romance, i think of angst, jealousy, TENSION, and trying their best to deny they have actual feelings for one another! here, it was insta-lust and you could just tell from chapter two that declan was infatuated with iris. if he’s already head over heels this early on then what’s the point in me reading the rest of the book? i wasn’t able to see the connection between them (except for maybe their past but? what did they bond over? what did they do except go on fake dates and annoy me with mr yakura. couldn’t care less!!)

In short, I think Declan is a much more complex character than Rowan, with more real fears and anxieties that justify his cold and harsh behavior.

More in Books

An author of romance novels, Lauren Asher is well-regarded for writing emotional and engaging stories that really draw the reader in. Filling her books with angst and steam, she immerses her audience in her richly interwoven worlds that instantly grab the reader. Imaginative and compelling on every level, she perfectly understands her audience, knowing just where she wants to take them. This approach of hers has seen her become enormously successful worldwide, reaching a variety of different readers both nationally and internationally. Terms and Conditions is the second book in the Dreamland Billionaire series which follows Declan and Iris. If you love age gap, marriage of convenience, boss/employee with lots of tension then this book is perfect for you! Everyone who enjoyed this I really am so happy for you and wish I could join you guys on the love train but this did not give what y'all said it was supposed to give!!! thnx to my partner in crime Hala for reading this with me (even tho I got distracted and left you), there's no one else I would suffer with but you 🦭

but when he apologises, Rowan basically declares how obsessed and infatuated he is with Zahra, how he can’t think of anyone else but her. how she’s makes him a better person. blah blah blahhhh... then when they have sex right after, Rowan tells her this can’t be anything more than causual between them? Anyways, lazy recommendation aside...I came into this with the right set of expectations because I knew this was a romcom. This is also a GRUMPY-SUNSHINE book. They are my least favorite, but I actually enjoyed how this was written. The sunshine main character was way less annoying than I thought she would be. We also get some amazing down syndrome representation in this book, since the FMC's sister has down syndrome.

Cal’s gaze narrows. “Don’t look at me that way. I don’t have nearly as many daddy issues as the other two.” He blew up on our girl Iris for something so small. Her reaction had me laughing a bit too. Without giving anything away... I found it a bit unbelievable on both ends, but Declan always redeems himself. Being inside their minds means you witness firsthand all of the growth Declan makes internally throughout the book. The writing style reminds me a little bit too much of my economic textbook. Please stop, I don't want to be taken there leave me alone- 🥲
