PDF / EPUB File Name: The_Agency_for_Scandal_-_Laura_Wood.pdf, The_Agency_for_Scandal_-_Laura_Wood.epub The Agency for Scandal is a heartwarming, witty and romantic story set in the Regency period (not what I expected from the cover) and I totally enjoyed this fast-paced, rollercoaster ride of an adventure. The title is a tad misleading, if you ask me. Since this book was clearly set during the Victorian era, with the London Season in full swing every year, the debutantes coming out and all kinds of scandals in the high society, I was expecting something more of an agency that really was about... upper-class scandals, you know? And that clearly isn't the case. So I got a bit miffed about that.

I can’t tell you how much I loved this book. Anything that quotes the Brontes throughout will always win my heart. Add in a perilous journey across the Yorkshire Moors to reach the remote Gothic home of a misanthropic, Byronic character, and I’m completely taken. I'm crossing my fingers that Laura Wood writes a sequel (or trilogy!) for these characters. I want to know more about ALL of them! The premise centres around the inequalities of British society suffered by women at the end of the C19th when women’s possessions became the property of husbands at the moment they marry, when opportunities for living independently were limited, and when the law had few recourses for women suffering at the hands of a brutal husband, father or other male guardian. Bestselling author Alexandra Christo, author of TikTok sensation To Kill a Kingdom, introduces her new book, The Night Hunt (Hot Key Books), a dark...

Laura Wood’s latest historical YA is an absolute awesome read. It’s a Spy thriller meets a romance. Izzy and the agency she is recruited into are trying to protect women from the laws that are written by men and they end up with one case that could have huge implications because he is a prominent politician. Izzy meets her secret crush (Max, Duke Roxton) who himself works for an intelligence agency that's run by said politician... Isobel’s situation is further complicated by the revelation that Max Vane, the Duke of Roxton with whom she is infatuated is in fact also hiding from society the fact that he is working for the secret service. Izzy and Max find themselves working together to foil a ruthless villain who in addition to discrediting his young wife is also endeavouring to obtain great power. The development of the relationship between Max and Izzy as they learn to trust each other has, I think, an undeniable charm.

The Agency for Scandal: think the A-Team, but set at the end of the C19th and women. Just as far fetched and just as much a joy. They will fight for those who have nobody else to fight for them. The Agency for Scandal is glorious! Clever, funny, charming, and achingly romantic, it is a delight from start to finish. Laura Wood always writes about love and friendship with a deft hand, and this is her best work yet” Katherine Webber, author of Twin Crowns An all-female detective agency righting wrongs at the end of the nineteenth century; infiltrating a scandalous upper class world straight out of Bridgerton and using their wit and bravery to unmask a villain. Bridgerton meets Charlie's Angels - the most romantic, exciting, empowering YA of the year. A smart, charming, brilliantly plotted and swooningly romantic story about a collective of bold women changing their world. About This Edition ISBN: Isobel Stanhope realised that life was short and full of bad turns. When her father died, leaving the family destitute, she had to do whatever it took to keep the truth from her young brother, and her mother, and return the family to its former standing. Joining the Aviary, and finding a place for herself in the world which doesn't respect her, was the dream, but even so, it's dangerous. Soon she finds herself embroiled in a scandal, and needs to work with the handsome Max Vane, Duke of Roxton. As they discover more about the villain, they find they are drawn to one another, and will risk it all to save each other. But can it work out, or is their case too much to handle?I smiled throughout this whole book...and even got teary-eyed a number of times! This is my new favorite Laura Wood novel and I'm crossing my fingers there are more coming with this same story line! Highly recommended!
